CROSS (The CW, New!) - Jennie Snyder Urman ("Emily Owens, M.D.") has sold another drama to the netlet, set in the 19th Century and centering on "22-year old Eliza who secretly assumes her recently deceased twin brother Thomas' identity and takes his job working in a Boston hospital as a doctor's apprentice." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour, home to Urman's overall deal. (Deadline.com)
JERKS WITH CAMERAS (MTV, New!) - SallyAnn Salsano's 495 Productions has snagged a 10-episode order for a new hidden-camera series in which "a team of quick-thinking comedians are sent out onto the streets by the show's host with one mission: mess with everyday people." Jackie French, Dan Caster, Janay Dutton and Nick Predescu will oversee the half-hour project for the network, which is due sometime next year. No host is currently set. (THR.com)
MADAM SECRETARY (CBS, New!) - Barbara Hall ("Joan of Arcadia") is back in business with the Eye, this time for a new drama about "the personal and professional life of a maverick female Secretary of State as she drives international diplomacy, wrangles office politics and balances a complex family life." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour with Revelations Entertainment's Morgan Freeman, Lori McCreary and Tracy Mercer also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA (NBC, New!) - Jeff Rake ("Beauty and the Beast") is looking to import Carlos Vila and Javier Holgado's Spanish series "Los Misterios De Laura" at the Alphabet. Warner Bros. Television is behind the hour, which follows "the life and relationships of a female homicide detective who can handle murderous criminals - but not her evil twins." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Berlanti Productions' Greg Berlanti and Melissa Kellner Berman are executive producing alongside Rake. (Deadline.com)
SOBER COMPANION (FOX, New!) - Jennie Snyder Urman and David Rosenthal are set to team for a "odd couple-esque comedy in which an out of control lawyer is forced to enlist a sober companion in order to get his life back on track." SOMEDAY, SOMEDAY, MAYBE (The CW, New!) - Lauren Graham's debut novel of the same name - about "a young woman with six months left on her three-year plan to make a career as an actress in New York City" - is being developed as a drama at the netlet. Graham will pen and executive produce the hour, which is set up at Ellen DeGeneres's Warner Bros. Television-based A Very Good Production. DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman then will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNDATEABLE (NBC/Warner Bros.; W: Adam Sztykiel; D: Scott Ellis) - Megan Park ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager") will round out the cast of the midseason comedy, about new roommates - man-child Danny (Chris D'Elia) and chronic over-thinker Justin (Brent Morin) - who bond over their foibles with the opposite sex. She'll play Nicki, "the eternally optimistic young waitress who is a recent transplant to Detroit from a small town in the Upper Peninsula," succeeding Briga Heelan from the original pilot and Aly Michalka from the original casting. Bianca Kajlich, David Fynn, Rick Glassman and Ron Funches also star. (Deadline.com)
