DAVID FONT OF MIAMI TAKES HOME $50,000 GRAND PRIZE AS WINNER OF HGTV'S "BROTHER vs. BROTHER"
NEW YORK [For Immediate Release - August 26, 2013] David Font, a landscape professional and business owner from Miami, Fla. was named the winner of HGTV's newest home renovation series, Brother vs. Brother. Throughout the series, hosts Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott, stars of the Property Brothers, and their teams vied to execute the smartest home renovation upgrades and score the biggest property-value increase. During last night's season finale, the network's expert judges Mike Aubrey (Power Broker), Kennon Earl (Selling LA), Hilary Farr and David Visentin (Love It or List It), deemed David and Team Drew winners of the renovation competition.
"I competed on a national stage with the best of the best and came out on top," said David. "When you set your mind to something and it actually comes to fruition, you feel like you can do anything!"
During the intense season finale, Team Drew paired David with fellow finalist Brett Karns to compete against Team Jonathan's Tiffany "Torche" Perkins and Monica Reese in the final challenge. The teams went head-to-head to renovate two identical homes - each valued at $330,000. Team Drew initiated smart renovation tactics, including the relocation of the living room fireplace and installation of new flooring. The results made the home seem much larger than the identical home of Team Jonathan. David's ingenious addition of a custom-designed electric fireplace with built-in media station created the "wow" factor that the judges loved.
The home renovations made by Team Drew outshined Team Jonathan's efforts and added an estimated $75,000 to the home's resale value and beat out Team Jonathan's home resale value by $15,000.
