Tom Green Joins AXS TV In A Live One-Hour Talk Show Series "TOM GREEN LIVE" Beginning Thursday, October 3 At 9 p.m. ET | 6 p.m. PT
TOM GREEN LIVE Will Feature Intimate Interviews With Green's Weekly Guests
Richard Belzer Sits In As Tom's First Guest October 3rd
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25, 2013 -- New media pioneer Tom Green will bring his one-of-a-kind wit, spontaneity and irreverent attitude to AXS TV with a new interview talk show, TOM GREEN LIVE, premiering on Thursday, October 3 at 9-10 p.m. ET | 6-7 p.m. PT. TOM GREEN LIVE is part of the network's Thursday comedy block and will follow episodes of the docu-series GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS at 8 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. PT and precede standup comedy series, GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE at 10 p.m. ET | 7 p.m. PT.
TOM GREEN LIVE, featuring Green with a hilarious guest each week, will highlight his skills as an interviewer, a side of Green seldom seen a part from his well-known zany persona. In this series, Green will showcase a more serious side as he will sit down and have a meaningful conversation, going one-on-one with his guest in a live setting every Thursday night. In this format, Green will get to the heart of the matter as he leaves the celebrity glitz and rehearsed interviews to the old guard.
Green, who has embraced the digital revolution with a successful podcast and a popular blog on The Huffington Post, will again utilize a cutting-edge technology and take live video Internet calls from viewers. Further taking advantage of the live telecast, Green will touch on the events of the day at the top of the show.
"Live television works best with an element of danger and when results are unpredictable," said AXS TV Founding Partner, Mark Cuban. "Throughout his career, Tom has embodied the skillset you look for in a live performer. Adding the unedited viewer element means that anything can happen. TOM GREEN LIVE was exactly the type of show I envisioned when we decided to develop the network as a vehicle to deliver the best in live entertainment."
"I am thrilled that AXS TV is bringing TOM GREEN LIVE to television," said Green. "Expect spontaneous, ridiculous, and outrageous conversations. I am looking forward to launching this crazy show. Stay tuned!"
Green is no stranger to hosting a talk show. He has guest-hosted "Late Night with David Letterman," his own talk show, "The New Tom Green Show" on MTV and his Internet talk show, "Tom Green's House Tonight," direct from his living room. Green, who first gained wild popularity in the United States with the groundbreaking "Tom Green Show" on MTV, has also starred in several motion pictures, performed as a rapper and continues to work as a standup comic. The show is being produced by Tom Green Studios with executive producers Tom Green and John Schneider. Tom Green is represented by Tyler Kroos at ICM, Ryan Nord and Dan Miller of Hirsch Wallerstein.
