NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution Has Sold "The Meredith Vieira Show" in More Than 60% of the U.S.
The new one-hour show starring award-winning TV personality Meredith Vieira, has been sold in the nation's top markets to station groups.

New One-Hour Daytime Show Hosted by Meredith Vieira Debuts on Local Broadcast Stations Fall 2014

New York, NY--October 28, 2013--NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution has sold "The Meredith Vieira Show" in more than 60% of the U.S. for its debut in national broadcast syndication next Fall 2014, it was announced today by Ed Swindler, President, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution and NBC Broadcast Operations.

The new one-hour show starring award-winning TV personality Meredith Vieira, has been sold in the nation's top markets to station groups that include NBC Owned Television Stations (as previously announced), Hearst Television, Sinclair Broadcast Group, LIN Media, Cordillera Communications, Gray Television, Post-Newsweek, Schurz Communications, London Broadcasting, Hubbard Broadcasting, Bonneville, Meredith Corporation, Young Broadcasting, Raycom Media, Quincy, Cox Media Group and more.

"The response from our station partners has been tremendous and we are very pleased with the fantastic reception that we have received over the past few weeks for the upcoming 'The Meredith Vieira Show'," said Swindler. In her new daytime show, Vieira will blend her unique point of view, empathy, and sense of humor with insightful storytelling that will make viewers laugh, learn and feel inspired. Produced in New York City on a set that resembles her home, "The Meredith Vieira Show" is a one-hour, multi-segmented show that will offer a blend of daytime fun with a mix of feel-good human interest stories--from everyday people to celebrity guests who have an important story to tell, lifestyle segments and key topics that highlight Vieira's warm, relatable and distinctive personality.

"The Meredith Vieira Show" is produced and distributed in the U.S. by NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution with Vieira also serving as an executive producer.

About Meredith Vieira:

Meredith Vieira currently serves as a special correspondent for NBC News programming including "Today" and "NBC Nightly News" and is producer and correspondent for "Meredith Vieira Specials," a series of prime-time hours. The 14-time Emmy(R) Award Winner has recently launched a YouTube Channel, "LIVES with Meredith Vieira," a premium digital channel exploring and championing real women of all ages.

Vieira joined "Today" in September 2006 as co-anchor, and was immediately accepted into the ranks of America's first television family. During her five years at "Today," Vieira also played a key role in covering several Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Vieira co-hosted the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which she will do again in 2014 at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Vieira won two Daytime Emmy(R) Awards for "Outstanding Game Show Host" (2005, 2009) for the nationally syndicated game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in which she served as host for 11 seasons. From 1997 to 2006, Vieira was moderator of ABC's "The View" where, each day, she led her fellow co-stars in discussions on current issues that ranged from social and political topics to tabloid headlines and celebrity news.

In 1993, she started at ABC when she joined their news division as chief correspondent of "Turning Point," which debuted in March 1994. Prior to her work at ABC, Vieira spent more than a decade at CBS News, where she garnered five Emmy(R) Awards for her work as a correspondent on the news magazines "60 Minutes" and "West 57th."

Vieira is involved with several charitable organizations, including the New York chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, for which she is also on the Board of Directors. In addition, she is active with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Alzheimer's Association, Children's Miracle Network, Clown Care (a program that coordinates hospital visits from specially trained clowns) and the Pajama Program (which provides warm pajamas and new books to children in need in the United States, and around the world.)

A native of Providence, R.I., Vieira received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. She has three children, Ben, Gabe and Lily with her husband, best-selling author and journalist, Richard Cohen.
