(Silver Spring, Md.) - On the heels of the historic announcement by the University of California, Berkeley and University of Hawaii, Science Channel has greenlit EXO-PLANETS (wt) - an all-new film that takes viewers deep inside the academic institutions' extraordinary findings from the NASA Kepler Space Telescope. The film, slated for premiere during Science Channel's third annual ARE WE ALONE?month in March of 2014, will feature in-depth interviews with the scientists at the forefront of the discovery and examine complex questions about our understanding of the universe and the implication for mankind.

"We provided audiences with exclusive coverage of Curiosity's remarkable landing on Mars last August. Now, we're excited to bring viewers a whole new, widened perspective of and provocative questions about the universe."

EXO-PLANETS (wt) will feature interviews with leading experts and scientists on the Kepler Space Telescope project including: Geoffrey Marcy, Professor of Astronomy at the University of California, Berkley; noted author and astronomer Phil Plait; and Christopher McKay, a scientist at NASA Ames Research Center.

Science Channel's ARE WE ALONE? month takes viewers on a search for answers to bold new questions about the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Beginning in 2011, ARE WE ALONE? month has featured highly-rated specials including ALIEN ENCOUNTERS,ALIENS: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE, NASA'S UNEXPLAINED FILES and THROUGH THE WORMHOLE: WILL WE SURVIVE FIRST CONTACT?.
