NEW YORK - November 6, 2013 - On Friday, November 8 at 8pm/7c, NBC's Dateline will air "Miracle on the Sunset Dive," a full-hour special report on the mid-air plane collision that took place 12,000 feet above Wisconsin. The collision sent one plane crashing to the ground as the skydivers on board survived by jumping from the wreckage. The harrowing scene was captured on five helmet cameras worn by the divers as they were flung in the air. The video shows their point of view as they plummeted to the ground surrounded by burning fuselage, as well as the second plane's remarkable emergency landing after sustaining serious damage.
Matt Lauer sits down with all nine skydivers and both pilots for a second-by-second account of the collision. For the first time, hear from the pilot whose plane lost both of its wings and plummeted to the ground. The survivors also share in-depth details behind the extraordinary footage and photos.
