MARIANA FLYNN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF NON-FICTION PROGRAMMING OF LIFETIME
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 19, 2013) - Mariana Flynn has been named Vice President of Non-Fiction Programming of Lifetime, it was announced today by Eli Lehrer, Senior Vice President of Non-Fiction Programming for the network.
Based in Los Angeles, Flynn will be responsible for developing and overseeing production of non-fiction projects for Lifetime. She will report directly to Lehrer, effective immediately.
"I've been a big fan of Mariana and her work for quite some time and am delighted to have her join my team," said Lehrer. "Her keen eye for talent and strong relationships within the creative community perfectly mesh with our strategy to keep building Lifetime's non-fiction slate with larger-than-life characters and daring concepts."
Flynn joins Lifetime from TLC in Los Angeles, where she was Vice President of Development. In this role, she was head of development for the network's West Coast operations, having overseen such projects as Something Borrowed, Something New, Cheer Perfection, Gypsy Sisters and All-American Muslim, among others. She joined TLC in 2007 as Director of Development and Production.
Prior to TLC, Flynn was Director of Alternative & Specials for NBC Entertainment. There, she developed and/or managed production of primetime programs for USA Network and Syfy, including, to name a few, Nashville Star, Ghost Hunters, Who Wants to be a Superhero? and Destination Truth. She began her career as Manager of Development at A. Smith & Company Productions, where she subsequently became Director of Development.
Flynn graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film & Television Production from Chapman University.
