LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- "It's always dicey to say anything definitive here because you have no idea how all of the creators and auspices of all the shows come running to us when we say anything specific," Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment, told reporters at the tail end of the network's executive session at the TCA Winter Press Tour. "But we're feeling bullish about 'Parks and Rec' and that's all I'm going to say."
When pressed what exactly "bullish" - a frequently used term during the tour this time out - means, Greenblatt ultimately declared, "I'll go out on a limb: 'Parks and Rec' is going to have a seventh season."
As for the preceding 45 minutes, NBC's quintet of press releases (read them here) covered the heavy lifting in terms of new announcements however there were a few other tidbits of note:
-- "The Celebrity Apprentice" is on track to return. "We're casting it now and we're going to shoot it later in the spring," Greenblatt said.
-- "I would love for him to do specials with us," Greenblatt said when asked about its future plans with departing "The Tonight Show" host Jay Leno. "We've got ideas about other shows he could host. We're being very respectful of him and not really pushing our agenda too hard."
-- Greenblatt says they've set a date for the Emmys, which will likely fall in August due to its "Sunday Night Football" franchise. "We have landed on a date, we're going to announce it in a couple of weeks." Speaking of the NFL, Greenblatt wouldn't comment on a potential bid for "Thursday Night Football" beyond, "We love the NFL. We'd love to have more NFL games."
-- And finally, the executive closed on the now required pilot season question. "I actually love pilots," he said. "I think 'Blacklist' probably would never have seen the air had we not made a pilot because it came from a relatively young, inexperienced writer and we weren't exactly sure [what it would be]."
