ESPN3 to Carry 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup Draw
On Monday, Feb. 3, ESPN3 will provide live coverage of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup Draw beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The draw will set the stage for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which begins on August 30 and runs through September 14 in Spain. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes will combine to carry every game throughout the marquee tournament.
During Monday's draw, the 24 participating teams will be divided into four groups of six teams each. The qualifying teams include defending world champion United States, host Spain, Angola, Argentina, Australia, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Iran, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Ukraine, and four additional wild card teams to be announced on Saturday, Feb.1. The preliminary rounds will be played in the cities of Bilbao, Granada, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Seville, while the final rounds will be staged in Barcelona and Madrid.
Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Marc and Pau Gasol are among the stars who may represent their native countries in the event.
