VELOCITY CELEBRATES 100 EPISODES OF ITS SIGNATURE SERIES "CHASING CLASSIC CARS," HOSTED BY WAYNE CARINI
--Velocity Also Announces the Greenlight of Season Seven of CHASING CLASSIC CARS--
(Silver Spring, Md.) - Velocity is celebrating a milestone for the network's signature series on Tuesday, February 18 at 10 PM ET/PT when the 100th episode of CHASING CLASSIC CARS world premieres. In episode 100, "Kiss A Few Frogs", host and automobile aficionado Wayne Carini finds a 1934 Lincoln KB Victoria Convertible. One of only 10 ever made and one of four left on Earth, the '34 Lincoln KB Victoria is one of the rarest of finds ever for Wayne on CHASING CLASSIC CARS.
On the heels of the 100th episode, Velocity also announced the greenlight of season seven of CHASING CLASSIC CARS - 26 all-new episodes - set to premiere exclusively on Velocity in September 2014.
In "Kiss A Few Frogs", world premiering Tuesday, February 18 at 10 PM ET/PT, Wayne's chase takes him Massachusetts where three brothers are keeping the car, which belonged to their father, under wraps in a garage on their farm. In order to buy the Lincoln KB he must live by an old idiom and kiss a few frogs before he gets what he came for. During the negotiation the brothers drive a hard bargain by making Wayne buy two other cars that don't quite catch his fancy - a 1970s era Chrysler K Car and a 1960s Buick convertible.
For six seasons Wayne Carini has bought, restored and sold the finest, rarest vehicles ever made. The classic cars that he has found were often hidden in homes, garages and barns across America. Wayne has brought viewers deeper into the elite inner circle of respected classic car artisans, collectors and restorers often meeting with them and helping them find the car of their dreams.
Season Six of CHASING CLASSIC CARS Continues Every Tuesday Night at 10 PM ET/PT With New Episodes:
Getting Hot, In The Hot Rod
Tuesday, February 25 at 10 PM ET/PT
Wayne's on an unlikely hunt for a Volvo 960 station wagon, a car with styling that some may say only a soccer mom could love. However, the Volvo's original owner, actor, philanthropist and car lover Paul Newman, fitted this unlikely car with a burly 5.0 liter V8 engine pulled from a Ford Mustang and then he supercharged it. Also, Wayne's appetite for all things automotive brings him to a hot rod event so pure they accept only 1963 and older traditional vehicles only. This event turns away any hint of modern high tech street rods and trailer queens.
The Power of Three
Tuesday, March 4 at 10 PM ET/PT
As if finding a 1970 Porsche 911 E Targa with only 5,000 original miles wasn't enough, Wayne has his hands on possibly the world's most perfect 1962 Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 Saloon - a car that has scored 100 points not once, but twice in the Jaguar Club of North America's national competition. Wayne finds an unrestored, incredibly original, well-preserved 1932 Stutz DV32 Convertible Sedan by LeBaron. With a total estimated value of between $420,000 and $550,000, Wayne's kicking off the auction season in Scottsdale with a bang.
CHASING CLASSIC CARS is produced for Velocity by Essex Television Group. Jim Astrausky is series creator and executive producer and Hannah B. Lintner is series producer. David Lee and Shaan Akbar are executive producers for Velocity. Robert Scanlon is general manager of Velocity.
