IFC FAIRGROUNDS TO DEBUT AT 2014 SXSW

- March 12-14, 2014 from 2-10PM at Palm Park -

New York, NY - Monday, February 24, 2014 - Step right up to the IFC Fairgrounds! In what will be IFC's largest SXSW event to date, this year the network will be transforming downtown Austin's Palm Park (East 3rd Street & Red River) into a festive and free outdoor experience for all badge holders to enjoy - part carnival, part state fair and as always, "Slightly Off."

The featured attraction will be the music main stage at the heart of the fairgrounds, hosting 21 blue-ribbon bands over the course of three days. See below for a full look at the lineup. Attendees can also enjoy music in two designated lounge areas including the "Deep End Theater," a multimedia lounge in the park's empty pool basin. Adding to the entertainment will be a giant three-lane fun slide where attendees can grab a burlap sack, climb up the stairs and take the plunge. Scattered throughout the fairgrounds will be classic carnival games such as balloon darts and cornhole with drink ticket prizes.

IFC will also have a picnic area with prize-winning food trucks (Coolhaus, Slab BBQ, Chi'Lantro) and a beer tent on-site. As a special ode to Portlandia and its upcoming episode featuring a celery themed sketch (http://www.ifc.com/portlandia/videos/portlandia-the-celery-incident ), the Coolhaus truck at the fairgrounds is offering two new exclusive flavors: cherry-bourbon-celery and peanut butter-raisin-celery ice cream sandwiches.

Before the IFC Fairgrounds open, the network will host a SXSW Portlandia panel on Tuesday, March 11 at the Austin Convention Center with creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. They will preview sketches from the upcoming fourth season premiering on IFC on February 27, and hold an in-person Q&A.
