MTV TO AIR TWO NEW RELATIONSHIP SERIES "THE EX AND THE WHY" AND "TIME'S UP" ON MONDAY, APRIL 21 BEGINNING AT 6:00 P.M. ET/PT
New York, NY (March 24, 2014) - Spring has arrived and love is in the air - or is it? MTV will air two new relationship series that test whether former couples should continue to stay apart, "The Ex and The Why," to another where they are fighting to stay together, "Time's Up," premiering Monday, April 21st. Viewers will get an inside look at different, yet critical, stages of relationships in transition. "The Ex and the Why," premiering at 6:00p.m. ET/PT will explore the often-asked question of "what happens when you can't get over your ex?" Rounding out the programing block at 6:30p.m. ET/PT, "Time's Up" will tackle one of the most heart-wrenching tests couples endure of what's to become when life-altering events force them to be separated by distance.
Each episode of "The Ex and The Why" features two separate stories of young adults who are hung up on their exes. In some cases, the significant others have reinvented themselves and get the chance that most dream of, to see the look on their exes' face when the blindfold is removed and their new selves are revealed. In other cases, some get the answer to the question they have been waiting years for: why their exes broke up with them. These surprise meetings result in a second chance at love, though some may wish this surprise never took place.
"Time's Up" focuses on the phenomenon of "expiration dating," where couples must re-evaluate their current relationships as they enter new phases of their lives that will eventually separate them. The scenarios vary from attending different colleges, semesters abroad, job relocations, military deployments and more. Each episode will follow a couple as they cope with the pressure of their expiration date and document their lives in the weeks leading up to the dreaded departure. When their time is finally up and the couples must say goodbye, they are faced with the decision of staying together to beat the odds as a long-distance couple, or go their separate ways.
"The Ex and The Why" and "Time's Up" will air across MTV's international channels beginning in May 2014 (check local listings).
