VELOCITY SUPERCHARGES AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAMMING WITH A 2014-15 UPFRONT SLATE FULL OF HIGH-OCTANE ENTERTAINMENT

(New York, NY ) Riveting stories, larger-than-life characters, and the best of the automotive world converged today when Velocity unveiled its 2014-15 programming slate at the Discovery Communications Upfront presentation in New York. The Upfront announcement follows a record-breaking 1Q14 where Velocity had its top delivering quarter in network history in prime and total day across all demos. As one of cable's fastest growing brands for men, Velocity ranks #1 in year-over-year subscriber growth among ad-supported cable networks, adding nearly 11 million homes over 1Q13. With more than 300 hours of entertaining, premiere programs including 12 returning favorites and seven all-new series, the network offers audiences captivating storytelling and huge personalities as seen through the lens of the automotive world to nearly 60 million homes nationwide.

In addition to more than 300 hours of entertaining, premiere programming including 12 returning favorites and seven all-new series, Velocity is now the exclusive television home of BARRETT-JACKSON, the world's greatest collector car auto auctions. Velocity, along with Discovery Channel and Discovery International, will provide viewers with unprecedented access to the most sought-after, unique and valuable automobiles in the world with more than 100 hours of live BARRETT-JACKSON auction coverage annually beginning in 2015.

One of Velocity's most popular franchises, WHEELER DEALERS, is coming to the U.S. in the all-new WHEELER DEALERS USA (wt). For the first time in the show's history, hosts Mike Brewer and Edd China will dedicate an entire season of their series to America. Mike and Edd will forego the confines of Britain to search the U.S. - from the sunny beaches of California to the coldest edges of Maine - for the right vehicles to buy, restore and sell for a tidy profit. WHEELER DEALERS USA (wt) will premiere in the summer of 2015.

Velocity is delivering viewers a new class of freshman franchises in 2014-15 headlined by JUNKYARD HUSTLE (wt). The all-new series features the father and son duo of Bobby and Andrew Cohen, who use their Maryland junkyard to turn solid steel into straight cash. The brash, confident Cohens take big metal - cars, motorcycles, boats, homes, campers and heavy equipment - from police auctions, dealers or other junkyards and aggressively turn it around for a profit or risk losing thousands of dollars. In addition to JUNKYARD HUSTLE (wt), four other all-new series premiere on the Velocity slate in 2014-15, including GARAGE SQUAD (wt), WHEELS THAT FAIL (wt) and EXTREME AUTO HUNTERS.

This year's class of premieres follows up on the very successful rookie class of 2013-14. Last year Velocity found hits with new franchises such as DALLAS CAR SHARKS, FANTOMWORKS, WHAT'S IN THE BARN and GRAVEYARD CARZ. All are returning in the 2014-15 Upfront slate along with Velocity's signature series including CHASING CLASSIC CARS and fan favorite OVERHAULIN' featuring legendary automotive designer Chip Foose along with co-hosts Chris Jacobs and Arianny Celeste.

OVERHAULIN' is TV's longest-running auto restoration show that executes incredible car makeovers for deserving owners and reinforces the strong emotional connection between man and machine. In each episode, master automotive designer Chip Foose combines his incredible originality, artistic abilities and amazing automotive knowledge to deliver life-altering surprises for worthy car owners.
