"Baseball Tonight" Hits the Green Carpet for Hollywood Premiere of Disney's "Million Dollar Arm"
Celebrities and Actors to Join Baseball Tonight On Set Live from El Capitan Theater
ESPN's Baseball Tonight will emanate live from the Hollywood premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' Million Dollar Arm Tuesday, May 6, beginning at 10 p.m. ET. In addition to covering the day's Major League Baseball news and highlights, the hour-long program will capture the atmosphere of the premiere and include interviews with celebrities, actors and notable guests including lead actor Jon Hamm from a set on the "green carpet" just outside of the El Capitan Theater. Baseball Tonight's Karl Ravech will serve as host alongside ESPN analyst and Baseball Hall of Famer Barry Larkin and ESPN MLB Insider Tim Kurkjian.
Based on a true story, Million Dollar Arm follows sports agent JB Bernstein (Hamm) to India where his "Million Dollar Arm" reality show competition helps to discover two 18-year-old boys who do not play baseball, but have a knack for throwing a fastball. Hoping he can turn them into major league baseball stars, Bernstein brings them to America to train and learn the finer points of baseball.
Directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay written by Tom McCarthy, Walt Disney Pictures' drama Million Dollar Arm stars Jon Hamm, Aasif Mandvi, Bill Paxton, Suraj Sharma, Lake Bell and Alan Arkin. ESPN Films' 30 for 30 executive producers Bill Simmons and Connor Schell are among the executive producers of the motion picture. Ravech, Larkin, ESPN analyst Curt Schilling, SportsCenter anchor Steve Levy and ESPN MLB Insider Jayson Stark all make cameo appearances in Million Dollar Arm, which will be released in theaters Friday, May 16.
Now in its 25th season, Baseball Tonight is ESPN's signature Major League Baseball highlights, news and information studio show. Baseball Tonight is available on computers, smartphones, tablets, Xbox, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku via WatchESPN.
