Two New Series Showcase Battles with Weather, Deep Sea Predators and More - But For These Intrepid Fisherman, the Lucrative Payoff Is Worth It
WHAT:
"Catching Hell" - Killer Conditions For Fishing
In the universe of high-stakes dangerous jobs, none is as extreme as the death-defying world of commercial spearfishing. Deep below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico, chasing millions of dollars worth of grouper, snapper, even barracuda, the series follows the world's most skillful hunters as they battle intense weather and ocean conditions, dive to astonishing depths, fight off the bends and man-eating sharks, and strike seemingly impossible shots on these valuable fish. For these marksmen who follow their own code and risk their lives on every dive, this epic hunt - and the paycheck that goes with it - is the ultimate rush.
"Catching Hell" features 10x 60-min. episodes and is produced by Stick Figure Studios ("Amish in the City," HBO's "Family Bonds"), a division of Ora TV ("Larry King Now," "Wayward Nation").
"Cold Water Captains"
"Cold Water Captains" ventures hundreds of miles offshore in the perilous North Atlantic with six fishing crews, facing swells as tall as houses and icebergs the size of small cities. It's a dangerous job with countless challenges and ferocious weather - all of which are tough on the boats, tough on gear, tough on the human body. Plagued by hurricanes and icebergs, mechanical failures or damaged gear, and the uncertainty of just where exactly the catch is hiding, every day is a high-stakes game. But the goal is always the same: fill the hatch and make money - as much and as fast as possible. Hometown pride and friendly competition rule the day, but when push comes to shove, they're all part of the same fiercely-protective fishermen's fraternity.
"Cold Water Captains" features 10x 60-min. episodes and is produced by Paperny Entertainment ("Yukon Gold," "Timber Kings.")
