DISNEY XD ORDERS A SECOND SEASON OF HIT LIVE-ACTION SUPERHERO COMEDY SERIES "MIGHTY MED"
Disney XD has ordered a second season of its popular live-action superhero comedy series "Mighty Med," it was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. Production will resume in Los Angeles in July for a fall 2014 premiere while new episodes continue to rollout.
For the October 2013 launch, "Mighty Med" ranked as the #1 telecast in its time period across target boy demos, and to date is a top performer for the network in Total Viewers and all key demos.
Created by executive producer Jim Bernstein ("Phineas and Ferb") and co-executive producer Andy Schwartz ("Scrubs") and executive-produced by Stephen Engel ("The Big Bang Theory"), the series stars Bradley Steven Perry ("Good Luck Charlie") as Kaz, Jake Short ("A.N.T. Farm") as Oliver, Paris Berelc as Skylar Storm, Devan Leos as Alan and Augie Isaac as Gus.
Bonnett said, "The show's clever take on the popular superhero genre has made this show a hit with Disney XD viewers. Our fans have embraced the show and its talented cast, and we look forward to delivering more action-packed and comical adventures in season two."
"Mighty Med" chronicles the after-school adventures of teenage best friends Kaz and Oliver, who land dream jobs at a secret hospital for superheroes, sci-fi and fantasy characters. Without powers of their own, these two seemingly ordinary boys realize that the power of friendship gives them the ability to become heroes themselves and save the people who save people.
The series is produced by It's A Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-Y7 parental guideline.
