GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY PREMIERES SECOND SEASON OF HIT ORIGINAL SERIES "JUNK GYPSIES"

Series Premieres Thursday, June 12 at 9|8c

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. [For Immediate Release - May 27, 2014] All-American lifestyle network Great American Country will air a second season of Junk Gypsies, consistently one of the network's top-performing original programs. Premiering Thursday, June 12 at 9|8c, the hit series is part of a surge of new, original programming debuting on Great American Country in 2014.

The self-proclaimed Junk Gypsies are Amie Sikes and Jolie Sikes, who combine rebellious, independent spirit with a funky style, and are on a mission to convert discarded trash into unexpected and fashionable designs. In its successful presentation on Great American Country, the series has been the network's No. 1 weekend program among adults and women ages 25-54.

"Viewers of Great American Country have responded enthusiastically to the Junk Gypsies' zest for life and their quirky antics," said Steven Lerner, senior vice president of programming and development for Great American Country. "Junk Gypsies fits perfectly with our network's dedication to all things American: family, home, food, hard work and fun."

In each of the eight half-hour episodes, the sisters apply their matchless design outlook to everything they do - from running their flagship Junk Gypsy Store to opening an inn that caters to flea-market-weary travelers. And Great American Country follows the pair on possibly the biggest opportunity of their careers: launching a new line of teen furniture and décor.

Also this season, the creative duo brings their restaurant background into play, hosting a BBQ for local cowboys and a family pizza party to celebrate "Gypsy-fying" Jolie's living room. Even "Large Marge," their signature pink '78 Chevy Suburban, makes an appearance in season two. There's never a dull moment for these free spirits who embrace small-town Texas while raising busy families.
