Longhorn Network to Air Texas Football Season Opener, Coach Strong Debut
Longhorn Network, ESPN's 24-hour network devoted to The University of Texas, will air the first game of the Longhorn football season when the 'Horns meet the North Texas Eagles on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. CT in Austin, Texas. This will be the fourth straight year LHN has aired the opening matchup, and it will be the ninth football game to air live on the network. The game will also feature the much-anticipated debut of new Texas head coach Charlie Strong.
In addition, the fall season of Texas GameDay, LHN's live pregame show airing two hours prior to kick, will debut August 30 from its Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium set. Gridiron coverage will continue immediately following the game with the season premiere of Texas GameDay Final powered by Chevy Silverado.
