NADIA G ROCKS THE ROAD IN NEW SERIES "BITE THIS WITH NADIA G" ON COOKING CHANNEL
Series Premieres Monday, July 14th at 10:00pm ET/7:00pm PT
NEW YORK - June 9, 2014 - Nadia G is taking her passion for food on the road in brand new Cooking Channel series, Bite This with Nadia G, premiering Monday, July 14th at 10:00pm ET/7:00pm PT. Nadia G and the Bitchin' Crew are causing a stir as they hit the highway to learn the tasty techniques of local chefs in the hottest culinary meccas in the country. Adventures and appetite lure Nadia to unique destinations, from downtown Los Angeles for inventive Indian-fusion, to the countryside of Burlington, Vt. for mouthwatering bacon marmalade pizza, and to the beaches in Montauk, N.Y. for the freshest lobster tempura roll.
"Bite This with Nadia G combines travel, food and comedy in a uniquely informative and entertaining way as only Nadia G can," said Michael Smith, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Cooking Channel. "Her signature sharp wit and rock star attitude adds even more flavor to the series, making it a very exciting and delicious addition to the Cooking Channel lineup."
In each of the 13 half-hour episodes, Nadia G and her colorful cast of food correspondents - Panos, The Spice Agent and Hans - get down and dirty in a new city visiting gastropubs, restaurants and eateries learning how to prepare the most delicious dishes on the menu. Whether it is poutine with chicken tikka, bacon-wrapped jalapenos or raspberry sriracha and maple miso doughnuts, Nadia G gets a sneak peek at how these local chefs make the most taste bud-tantalizing recipes.
Over the course of the season, Nadia discovers how to cook "the best burger in the world" at Father's Office in Culver City, Calif., which is prepared to such perfection that no condiments are allowed. In another episode, she stops at Tony Boloney's in Atlantic City, N.J. to test her luck with an unusual take on a Philly cheesesteak that is slathered in a spicy chipotle sauce. She also heads to West Harlem, N.Y. for the famous Cinnamon Scented Fried Guinea Hen at The Cecil, with skin so crispy it achieves "cosmic oneness." Along the way, the Bitchin' Crew uncovers the secrets of aging beef and pickling, as well as the mystery behind flavors like mango dust, graham cracker and red velvet.
Nadia G has a sharp wit, killer style and can cook up a storm in three-inch cherry heels. She looks at the funny side of everyday situations and turns them into occasions worth celebrating - with great food and big laughs. Focusing on accessible haute cuisine, fresh organic ingredients and a hands-on approach, Nadia's recipes are rooted in the Casalinga-style Italian cuisine she grew up with and infused with the culinary influences of her beloved hometown Montreal. Nadia G's Bitchin' Kitchen began as the short web series Bitchin' Kitchen, and its runaway success led to the television series, which premiered on Cooking Channel in 2010. Swapping her leopard-print apron with a hard hat, Nadia also hosts the original online series Sick Kitchens, a popular design show on ulive.com. Nadia is also the author of two cookbooks: Cookin' For Trouble and The Bitchin' Kitchen Cookbook: Rock Your Kitchen and Let the Boys Clean Up the Mess.
Bite This with Nadia G is produced by Tricon Films.
