And The Shake Up Join Network's Rapidly Expanding Slate
As part of its continuing brand and programming evolution, truTV has greenlit four new series: Branson Famous (working title), the first-ever reality musical; Hack My Life, a comedic take on life's little shortcuts that can save you time, effort and money; Kart Life, a high-speed, high-stakes look at the kids and parents involved in the competitive sport of kart racing; and The Shake Up, a fun, competition reality series that will settle once and for all which bar owners have the best recipe for success. All four series are slated to launch this fall and winter. truTV's announcement raises the total number of series greenlit by the network over the past nine months to 13.
truTV has also expanded its order for the upcoming reality western Way Out West, which is set to premiere Monday, July 21. Demonstrating its confidence in the show, the network has ordered an additional 13 episodes of the unscripted series about three boisterous, fun-loving families of outfitters who have been living, laughing and competing with each other for three generations.
In addition to building an extensive slate of new shows, truTV has taken the next step in the visual aspect of its brand evolution. The network is rolling out a newly refreshed logo designed to reflect truTV's new spirit. On-air, the logo's dot will be used as a portal through which viewers will experience truTV's new brand. The dot will also be used as a communication device thru which consumers can access truTV content on various platforms
truTV's brand evolution began earlier this year with the launch of the hit series The Carbonaro Effect and continued last month with the debut of Motor City Masters. In the fall, truTV will premiere Jokers Wild (Sept. 25), a spinoff of the wildly popular Impractical Jokers which will give the four stars the chance to show their comedy chops in all-new situations; the unique performance competition show Fake Off (Oct. 27), hosted by Robert Hoffman and featuring judges Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Harry Shum Jr. and Michael Curry; Friends of the People (Oct. 28), the network's first sketch-comedy series; the ambush game show Hair Jacked (October); and How to Be a Grown Up (October), a comedic take on the relatable trials and tribulations of true adulthood. And this winter, truTV will premiere Local News (working title), a look at the playful rivalry between the news teams at two small town television stations.
"truTV is working with an outstanding group of creators who are providing each of our series with a unique and surprising point of view," said Chris Linn, president, head of programming for truTV. "We are creating innovative and clever programming with a goal to make truTV a fun ride for grownups and a refreshing alternative in a landscape where so many shows look and feel the same."

Way Out West - Series Premiere: Monday, July 21, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)
Amidst the beautiful, majestic mountains of Idaho, three boisterous, fun-loving families of outfitters have been living, laughing and competing with each other for three generations. Now they're at the center of truTV's brand new series Way Out West, a fascinating and fun look at these three truly original clans who love life and know how to have a good time. The Youren, Bullock and Korell families all run rival outfitting businesses, taking clients deep inside the country's last great wilderness for tracking, fishing, rafting, horse riding and camping trips. truTV's Way Out West follows these three charismatic, engaging families as they compete to lead the best excursions, survive their various family shenanigans and participate in local festivals and time-honored traditions. From guiding city-dwellers who would otherwise lose their way to rescuing the families' own lost cattle, these men and women of the backcountry live surprisingly relatable lives, facing everyday family situations like raising kids and finding love in the last remnants of the Wild West. Way Out West is being produced for the network by Rogue-Atlas Productions in association with Lionsgate Television.
