SHOWTIME(R) COLLABORATES WITH DIRECTOR TATIA PILIEVA FOR SOCIAL EXPERIMENT "UNDRESS ME," INSPIRED BY THE ACCLAIMED SERIES "MASTERS OF SEX"
MASTERS OF SEX's Second Season Premieres This Sunday At 10 PM ET/PT
NEW YORK (July 11, 2014) - In honor of the highly-anticipated second season of MASTERS OF SEX which premieres this Sunday at 10 p.m. ET/PT, SHOWTIME has teamed up with director Tatia Pilieva ("First Kiss") for her second social experiment short piece, titled "Undress Me." The video features 20 strangers, paired into couples, from a myriad of ethnic backgrounds, ages and sexual orientations as they meet for the first time, undress each other and get into bed. Structured similarly to the groundbreaking research by Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson in 1957, the black and white film celebrates intimacy, shedding light on human sexuality. To view the video, please go to: http://s.sho.com/UndressMe. MASTERS OF SEX stars Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominee Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan and chronicles the unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory of real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson.
Tatia Pilieva achieved mass recognition for her short video "First Kiss," which has over 85 million views on YouTube, and features 10 couples who meet for the first time and kiss on camera. "Undress Me" marks the second iteration of Pilieva's experimental film series, taking couples to the next level of intimacy and observing the raw reactions of real-life romance when strangers disrobe for the first time. Originally from the Republic of Georgia, Pilieva received an MFA from the American Film Institute and recently completed her first feature film "Forever" starring Deborah Ann Woll and Luke Grimes.
MASTERS OF SEX is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love. Season two picks up after Masters' (Sheen) disastrous presentation and the rippling ramifications of being fired from the hospital.
