TED GOLD NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SCRIPTED ORIGINAL SERIES, SPIKE TV

Los Angeles, CA, September 2, 2014 - Ted Gold has been named to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Scripted Original Series, Spike TV, it was announced today by Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, to whom he will report.

In his new position Gold will lead a newly-created scripted development team and will oversee all scripted programming for Spike, from development through production. Gold's responsibilities will include devising a competitive and creative strategy to further Spike as a home for compelling scripted programming.

"Ted's eye for great material, strong relationships and competitive tenacity, makes him perfectly suited to lead our new scripted development team," said Levy. "Ted will play an integral role on my team as we continue to create programming for our ever-broadening audience."

Justin Lacob, Vice President, Original Series, will now be reporting to Gold as part of the newly-formed scripted development team. Lacob joined Spike in June 2011 and has overseen the development and production of one of Spike's highest rated original series, "Bar Rescue." He will continue to work on non-scripted projects as well, overseen by Chris Rantamaki, Senior Vice President, Original Series.

Gold previously served as President of Television and Executive Producer at Parkes +Macdonald/Universal Television, under an overall deal with NBCUniversal, where he developed projects for HBO, Showtime, Amazon, ABC, USA, and NBC and produced the Neil Cross/John Malkovich series, "Crossbones" for NBC.

Prior to that, Gold was Head of Television for Deuce Three Productions/CBS Paramount Television where he spearheaded all television business and development for Academy Award winning filmmaker, Curtis Hanson. Gold also served as Senior Vice President, Series Development at FOX where he oversaw all dramatic programming including "Bones," "Prison Break," and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"

Gold's previous stints in television include serving as Senior Vice President, Series Development for Spelling Television; Vice President, Creative Affairs, Alliance/Atlantis; and Director of Development, Drama & Longform for New World Entertainment.

Spike TV will premiere its first scripted event series in seven years, "Tut," in 2015. The network recently announced script options for "The Crusaders" from Pierce Brosnan's Irish DreamTime, Mark Sennet Entertainment, Michael Finch and Academy Award(R)-winning writer David Franzoni; "The Chairman," based on the Stephen Frey best-seller; "War at the Shore" based on Richard D. "Skip" Bronson's book; and "Basket Case" by prominent author and journalist Carl Hiaasen.
