New York, NY - September 23, 2014 - What does the Ground Zero flag from 9/11 have in common with the original Wright Brothers flying machine patent? Both are historically important items for the United States... and both are missing. Best-selling author Brad Meltzer enlists America's help to find these and other missing treasures in H2's new 10-episode series BRAD MELTZER'S LOST HISTORY, premiering Friday, October 31 at 10PM ET/11PM PT.

Each episode of H2's BRAD MELTZER'S LOST HISTORY presents both unsolved cases and success stories where Americans havehelped find missing historic objects. Viewers are encouraged to submit tips to an online site, in an effort to provide key information leading to the return of these treasures.

"The stories of why these artifacts matter to the nation and how they disappeared need to be heard," says Mike Stiller, Vice President of Development & Programming for HISTORY and H2. "H2 feels obligated not just to provide historic programming for people who crave intelligent and educational entertainment, but also to preserve history for generations to come."

In the premiere episode, Brad puts the spotlight on the famous "Ground Zero Flag from 9/11" that was hoisted over the wreckage of the Twin Towers, and captured in an iconic photograph. The original flagwent missing some time after it was raised, and its whereabouts are unfortunately unknown. Also featured in the premiere episode is Harry Truman's jewel-encrusted sword collection that was stolen from his Presidential Library in Missouri in a daring heist in broad daylight, as well as the legendary Thompsonmachine gun that American gangster and bank robber John Dillinger stole during his infamous jail break. Over the course of the series, Brad will update and revise his 'TOP 10 MOST WANTED MISSING ARTIFACTS' - just a small sampling of the tens of thousands of historical treasures that have been lost or stolen.

Many of the items are still out there, and BRAD MELTZER'S LOST HISTORY is giving viewers a chance to help save these American artifacts, even offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to their recovery.
