ESPN to Make Scottsdale Fashion Square Home During Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona

Studio set will overlook Camelback Mountain

ESPN has chosen Scottsdale Fashion Square (7014-590 E. Camelback Road) as its production headquarters for Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona. In all, more than 120 hours of ESPN television and radio coverage and other related content across the company's multimedia platforms will originate from Scottsdale, Monday, January 26 through Sunday, February 1, 2015.

ESPN will utilize three outdoor stages and a 24-by-48-foot demo field at Scottsdale Fashion Square (north side between Goldwater Boulevard and Scottsdale Road), one of the area's premier shopping and dining destinations. Fan Fest Scottsdale, a week-long celebration offering food, fashion and football, that is free and open to the public will be adjacent to ESPN's broadcast location throughout Super Bowl week.

Some of ESPN's most popular shows will originate from Scottsdale, including daily editions of Mike and Mike, SportsCenter, NFL Insiders, NFL Live and a special four-hour edition of Sunday NFL Countdown on Super Bowl Sunday. Chris Berman, Cris Carter, Trent Dilfer, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, Ron Jaworski, Keyshawn Johnson, Suzy Kolber, Ray Lewis, Steve Levy, Hannah Storm, Scott Van Pelt, Trey Wingo and Steve Young are among the many on-air commentators expected to be featured throughout the week, along with top guests from the world of sports and entertainment.

Program schedules will be released at a later date and all shows will be open for public viewing. ESPN's set-up will begin around January 20.

"We're thrilled to make Scottsdale Fashion Square our production headquarters for Super Bowl week in Arizona," said ESPN senior coordinating producer Seth Markman, who oversees all NFL studio shows and ESPN's Super Bowl week coverage. "We expect great crowds, one of the most picturesque backdrops you could ask for with Camelback Mountain, and, of course, great weather. Thanks to the city, the Host Committee and local business leaders for welcoming us with open arms."

Added Rachel Sacco, president and CEO of the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau: "We are delighted to welcome ESPN back to Scottsdale for another incredible opportunity to host their weeklong broadcast, showcase our unique Sonoran Desert setting, and of course, celebrate this season's big game."

ESPN's Super Bowl week coverage from Arizona - which kicks off with the 2015 Pro Bowl telecast on Sunday, January 25, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale - will be seen and heard across the company's many domestic networks, including in Spanish on ESPN Deportes, and available in more than 58 countries and territories via ESPN International.

In addition to the ESPN production plans for Super Bowl, ESPN will host "ESPN The Party." Annually one of Super Bowl week's most popular invite-only nightlife events, the venue, performances and sponsors will be announced in early January.

This is the second time ESPN has made Scottsdale its home for Super Bowl week in Arizona. In January 2008, ESPN was based at The Mix at Southbridge for Super Bowl XLII.
