BREED (TNT; W: John Scott Shepherd; D: Scott Winant) - The supernatural drama - about a volatile race of creatures who are committing brutal murders in the Pacific Northwest, and the reluctant FBI investigator who pairs with a female assassin to track them - has been ordered to pilot by the cable channel. Nicky Weinstock of Invention Film Co. also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
LIMITLESS (CBS, New!) - Craig Sweeny ("Elementary") has scored a pilot production commitment for a new drama based on the 2011 feature, about Brian Sinclair (Bradley Cooper), "as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug enhanced abilities for good." Cooper himself is on board to executive produce the CBS Television Studios-based hour alongside Yet To Be Named Company's Todd Phillips; K/O Paper Products' Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Heather Kadin; Relativity Television's Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley and Tom Forman; and the film's director Neil Burger, who's attached to direct. Leslie Dixon, who adapted Alan Glynn's novel for the film, and producer Scott Kroopf will serve as co-executive producers, as will Andrew Marcus and Ray Ricord. (Deadline.com)
POTUS (FOX, New!) - Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves ("Sleepy Hollow") have sold a new drama to the network about "an American President frustrated with politics as usual, who decides to play by his own rules." "24" alums Manny Coto and Evan Katz are supervising the hour with Teakwood Lane's Howard Gordon also executive producing for 20th Century Fox Television. Chalsen and Greaves will serve as co-executive producers, as will Hugh Fitzpatrick. (Deadline.com)
SLAP, THE (NBC/Universal; W: Jon Robin Baitz; D: Lisa Cholodenko) - Uma Thurman has replaced Mary-Louise Parker in the limited series, a complex family drama that explodes from one small incident where a man slaps another couple's misbehaving child. Parker, who had to step aside due to health reasons, previously was cast as Anouk, "a TV writer who is dating her show's young leading man (Penn Badgley)." Brian Cox, Peter Sarsgaard, Lucas Hedges, Zachary Quinto, Thandie Newton and Thomas Sadoski also star. (TVLine.com)
