Burbank, CA (November 10, 2014) - ABC Family is making its new holiday episodes of "Switched at Birth" and "The Fosters" available to viewers early on its authenticated WATCH ABC Family service and VOD platforms from Monday, December 1 through Sunday, December 7.
WATCH ABC Family service makes it possible for fans who verify with a participating TV provider to watch a live feed of the network and the most recent episodes of their favorite ABC Family shows on demand anytime, anywhere via desktops, smartphones and tablets. On the all-new holiday-themed episode of "The Fosters," airing Monday, December 8 at 8:00PM ET/PT on ABC Family, Brandon looks back on Callie and Jude's first Christmas with the Foster family.
As Callie and Jude spend their first Christmas with the Fosters, Callie feels the sting of still being an official foster kid while Jude's guilt over having been adopted has him overcompensating. Stef feels that Grandma Sharon's (guest star Annie Potts, "Any Day Now") gift giving is excessive, especially when she learns where the money is coming from. Lena must face her own bias against another family member. Meanwhile, Jesus enters the neighborhood house decorating competition and is accused of cheating by his neighbor Mr. Nesbit (guest star Michael Fairman, "The Young and the Restless").
On "Switched at Birth," airing Monday, December 8 at 9:00PM ET/PT on ABC Family, the Kennish and Vasquez families prepare to celebrate Christmas in their traditional ways, Bay and Daphne find themselves living each other's lives as if the switch never happened.
As the holidays approach, Bay bristles at Kathryn's festive holiday spirit, complete with homemade peanut brittle and Christmas karaoke, while Daphne is frustrated with Regina's usual tradition of movies and Chinese food for Christmas. Then, after a joint family dinner including "magical" garlic knots, they wake to discover that the switch never happened. In this alternate life, Bay (Katie Leclerc) is an Olympic hopeful and Daphne (Vanessa Marano) is a successful artist with an upcoming exhibit. Is it the Christmas miracle they've always wanted? Could they even get back if they tried?
Peabody Award-winning "Switched at Birth" is executive-produced by Lizzy Weiss ("Blue Crush"), Paul Stupin ("Dawson's Creek," "Make It or Break It"), Linda Gase ("ER," "Army Wives") and Joy Gregory ("Felicity," "Joan of Arcadia").
