(WASHINGTON, D.C. - Feb. 5, 2015) Never doubt the power of friendship. Sometimes man's best friend is not who you think it is, and sometimes predator and prey bond in the most unexpected ways. Of all the unlikely animal friends in the world, we search out the most unique, most surprising and most loving in Nat Geo WILD's popular Unlikely Animal Friends, returning Friday, Feb. 27, at 10 p.m. ET/PT with all new episodes. (For more information, visit natgeowild.com and follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/NGC_PR.)
The six-episode series documents one heartwarming tale after another, many of which have gone viral on the Internet. Now we're digging a little deeper to share the personal stories. There's Penny, a rescued silkie chicken, and Roo, a disabled Chihuahua, best friends who rule the roost in the waiting room of an animal hospital where their owner is a receptionist. Clients like to schedule their appointments around the unlikely friends to see their bonding in person.
We also meet Craig and his mountain-climbing buddy, Millie the cat, who never complains on a climb and always wants to go higher. Craig found Millie at an animal adoption center in Utah. Little did he know that it was a match made in mountain-climbing heaven.
Then there's the animal rescue mission that reunited a goat named Mr. G with his best friend, a donkey named Jellybean. They were separated after being rescued from neglect and sent to different sanctuaries. Mr. G's caretakers soon realized that he was depressed without his donkey buddy, so they found Jellybean and brought her back to her best friend. The video of their reunion highlights an incredible bond.
Hear about these stories and many more on season four of Unlikely Animal Friends, where animals love, cuddle and cohabitate with any creature they choose, regardless of species.
