"THE MELTDOWN WITH JONAH AND KUMAIL"
FOR A SECOND SEASON

NEW YORK, February 17, 2015 - Comedy Central continues offering fans of stand-up the best seat in town at LA's hottest comedy show as the channel has renewed Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani's "The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail" for a second season, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central. The second season will consist of eight episodes and is executive produced by Ray, Nanjiani, live show producer Emily V. Gordon, and Red Hour's Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein.
"We are very pleased to be doing a second season of the show, if only to have another classic 'Kent Alterman quote' in a press release," said Ray, Nanjiani and Gordon.
"No comment," added Alterman.
Shot documentary style at the Nerdist Showroom in the back of Meltdown Comics, Los Angeles' premiere comic book store, and directed by Lance Bangs, the first season featured performances by Steve Agee, Eric Andre, Maria Bamford, Michael Ian Black, Neal Brennan, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Hardwick, Rob Huebel, Moshe Kasher, David Koechner, Tom Lennon, Garfunkel and Oates, Nick Offerman, Marc Maron, Paul Sheer, Reggie Watts, Weird Al Yankovic, among others. The series also features intimate and hilarious backstage moments with comedians and celebrities who stop by just to hang out in the green room. Toni Magon and Ryan Moran are the Executives in Charge for Comedy Central.
