FX CLOSES FIRST-LOOK DEAL WITH STACEY SHER'S SHINY PENNY
Award-Winning Producer of Django Unchained, Erin Brockovich
In Two-Year Television Production Deal
LOS ANGELES, March 19, 2015 - FX has closed a first-look production deal with award-winning producer Stacey Sher and her production company Shiny Penny, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. Sher, who was nominated for an Academy Award(R) for Django Unchained and Erin Brockovich, is currently producing The Hateful Eight, her third collaboration with Quentin Tarantino.
The two-year agreement between FX and Shiny Penny covers all projects developed for FX Networks.

In addition to Sher, Shiny Penny includes Executive Vice President Coco Francini, associate producer of The Hateful Eight and co-producer of Zach Braff's Wish I Was Here, for which she ran the Kickstarter campaign. In addition, Emily Levitan has joined Shiny Penny as Creative Executive.
Sher is currently producing The Hateful Eight, her third collaboration with Tarantino, and Untitled John Wells Project, both of which will be released by The Weinstein Company this fall. Sher's independently financed feature adaptation of the 2007 Academy Award winning documentary short Freeheld was recently picked up for distribution by Lionsgate for release later this year. Sher's film credits include Academy Award Best Picture nominee Pulp Fiction, the 2005 Independent Spirit Award-winning Garden State, and three films with director Steven Soderbergh: Contagion, Erin Brockovich, and Out of Sight.
For television, Sher is producing AMC's upcoming martial arts drama Badlands. She previously served as Executive Producer for all six seasons of the Comedy Central television series Reno 911.
Sher was honored by the ACLU for her commitment to films and television that are empowering, inspirational and thought-provoking, dealing with issues from public safety to education, social justice to censorship. Additional honors include the Humanitas Prize for Freedom Writers, the Christopher Award for World Trade Center, the 2002 Mary Pickford Award from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and the 2000 Women in Film Independent Vision Award.
