DETOUR (FOX/20th; W: Steve Franks; D: Jeremy Garelick) - Affion Crockett ("In the Flow with Affion Crockett") has been tapped for a role in the comedy pilot, which is inspired by the real life story of Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo, a rock star who made the unexpected choice at the age of 30 to quit his band and go back to college. He'll play Dominic, "Michael's (Ben Aldridge) manager. He is a reminder to Michael that the music industry is demanding his return." Joey Morgan, Olivia Thirlby and Peter Gallagher also star. (Deadline.com)

FAMILY FORTUNE (ABC/Universal; W: Fortune Feimster & Matt Hubbard; D: Mark Cendrowski) - Comedian Chris Redd has scored a role on the Fortune Feimster-led multi-camera comedy pilot, set in North Carolina and centers on popular gym teacher Fortune (Feimster) who comes out of the closet to her close-knit group of family and friends. He'll play Steven, "a kind-hearted music teacher at Fortune's school." Annie Potts, John Carroll Lynch, Lacey Chabert and Parker Young also star. (Deadline.com)

PREACHER (AMC/Sony; W: Sam Catlin; D: Evan Goldberg & Seth Rogen) - British actor Joseph Gilgun (This Is England) has booked a role on the drama pilot, based on the comic book about Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the three embark on a journey to literally find God. He'll play the aforementioned Cassidy, "the most wild-ass, bestest 'bro' you'd ever want to meet. He may be 100 years dead but no one's more boisterously alive than Proinsias Cassidy." Ian Colletti also stars. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - NBC and Warner Bros. Television have opted not to proceed with production on their Monica Potter-led comedy pilot as "the project in its current form didn't live up to its potential and that it would benefit from redevelopment" (Deadline.com); Oscar-nominated producer Rachel Winter has inked a first-look development deal with A+E Studios (Deadline.com); Wolf Films post-production chief Arthur W. Forney has closed a new overall deal with Universal Television (Deadline.com); Chloe Sevigny is bound for "American Horror Story: Hotel" (@MrRPMurphy); Greg Rucka and Michael Lark's dystopian comic book series "Lazarus" is being developed for TV by Legendary Television (THR.com); Bruce Campbell has been tapped to play Ronald Reagan in the new season of "Fargo" (TVLine.com); Jim Beaver's Bobby will return to "Supernatural" for its April 1 episode (Variety.com); and real life husband-wife duo Timothy Busfield and Melissa Gilbert will drop by "The Night Shift" on April 27 (Variety.com).
