--WildlifeEnforcement Franchises NORTH WOODS LAW and RUGGED JUSTICE Also Return to Animal Planet with All-New Episodes--
(New York, NY - March 30, 2015) -From Maine to Texas to Washington State, Animal Planet takes viewers to the edge of the natural world following the brave men and women protecting our nation's wilderness and the creatures who call it home. The network will follow the real-life drama of law enforcement agents risking their lives to protect America's untouched habitat with the all-new series LONE STAR LAW and the return of popular franchises NORTH WOODS LAW and RUGGED JUSTICE.
"Wildlife enforcement agents are last line of defense for the wild planet, warding off poachers, environmental threats and myriad other dangers," said Rick Holzman, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Animal Planet. "Our audience strongly gravitates toward these true stories of dedicated gatekeepers called upon each day to protect the undeveloped world from harm."
In the new series, LONE STAR LAW, viewers get unprecedented access to the more than 500 agents of Texas Parks and Wildlife wardens who embark on dangerous missions to apprehend those who commit crimes against nature. Making over 60,000 arrests each year, the series captures the action as the wardens execute undercover stings, work on ongoing investigations and protect their territory. The 10-episode series is scheduled to premiere in early 2016.
Later this year, the popular series NORTH WOODS LAW returns with 10 new episodes that follow the nearly 100 game wardens in Maine who must safeguard people and animals within the wilderness, while enforcing general state law during one of the busiest and most perilous times of the year. Each day they face extreme danger and drama as undercover stings and intense rescues are all part of the job. Whether they're tracking bears on dangerous mountains or busting drunk drivers on ATVs, these wardens risk life and limb to protect animals and serve the people of the Pine Tree State.
RUGGED JUSTICE follows the elite force of Washington State's Department of Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Program as they police the Evergreen State's 42 million acres of unforgiving mountain terrains, twisted back roads and densely populated coastal areas. No matter the danger, these officers tirelessly enforce the law and protecting both wildlife and people including tracking and capturing bears and cougars with the one-of-a-kind Karelian Bear-Dog Unit, busting poachers along the USA-Canada border or going undercover to take down traffickers in the illegal animal parts trade. The second season returns with 10 episodes in Fall 2015.
