of Bark TV, Premiering Friday, May 15
(WASHINGTON, D.C. - May 11, 2015) Ever wish you could turn to man's best friend in the middle of a ruff day? Nat Geo WILD is making dreams come true with #BarkBreak, an on-call dog service that will personally deliver an adoptable shelter dog for a 30-minute puppy love session in New York City, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC, on Thursday, May 14. #BarkBreak is in celebration of May's National Pet Month and helps kick off BarkFest, Nat Geo WILD's weekend of all-dog TV, premiering Friday, May 15.
Beginning Monday, May 11, fans can follow @natgeowild on Twitter for a link to request to their own #BarkBreak. On Thursday, May 14, adoptable dogs from the Humane Society of New York, the spcaLA in Los Angeles, and The Washington Humane Society in Washington, DC, will be dispatched to the dog deprived. #BarkBreak availability is limited, but the team will be working hard to fulfill as many four-legged play dates as possible. If a meeting is a love match, future pet parents can talk to the shelter ambassador accompanying the dog to start the adoption process.
The #BarkBreak canines are all searching for their furever homes and Nat Geo WILD will help their cause by featuring photos and bios of the dogs on Nat Geo WILD's website and on the network's social platforms during the week of May 11, using the hashtag #BarkBreak.
Watch #BarkBreak unfold in real time on Thursday, May 14 by following @natgeowild on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook.
To continue the National Pet Month celebration, we will be posting pictures and info about adoptable dogs from our shelter partners and The North Shore Animal League America in Long Island, NY on our social channels throughout the month of May.
