SHOWTIME(R) DEBUTS 2015 PRIMETIME EMMY(R) CAMPAIGN
Acclaimed Series PENNY DREADFUL, HAPPYish And THE AFFAIR Are First-Time Contenders
New York, NY - May 14, 2015 - SHOWTIME has rolled out its For Your Consideration Emmy Award campaign, kicking-off its annual efforts with a multi-faceted promotion that includes the SHO FYC online screening room, available to TV Academy voters across multiple platforms, print and online ads in key trades, a major consumer media buy, and ads on over 100 buses targeting key routes in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area. For the seventh consecutive year, SHOWTIME will dedicate its awards site to screening all episodes of its Emmy-eligible programs on SHO.com/FYC, which is available across multiple devices including computers, iPhones(R) and iPad(R) tablets. Additionally, the network has dedicated Twitter (twitter.com/SHO_gold) and Facebook (facebook.com/SHOgold) feeds, all aimed at increasing awareness for the network's Emmy eligible series, documentaries and talent. The 2015 Emmy campaign will feature ads for the network's critically-acclaimed series including first-time contenders PENNY DREADFUL, HAPPYish and THE AFFAIR.
SHOWTIME has been at the forefront of innovative awards campaigns as the first network to send full seasons of a series for consideration, the first network to stream its series online for TV Academy voters, and as the first to ever display its Emmy Award ads in an outdoor campaign on major bus routes. TV Academy members will receive their annual SHOWTIME branded For Your Consideration mailer this week, which contains episodes of the network's original programming and select documentaries, including the hit series SHAMELESS, which for the second consecutive year, has been sanctioned by the Television Academy to compete in the Comedy category.
On behalf of its critically-acclaimed freshman series PENNY DREADFUL, THE AFFAIR and HAPPYish, the network will send out an extra four episodes of the series on DVD to Academy voters. The expanded mailing of six full episodes of the first seasons allows voters to sample more of each series. THE AFFAIR recently took home the Golden Globe(R) Award for Best Drama Series, as well as the win for lead actress Ruth Wilson for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, while PENNY DREADFUL was honored with the most BAFTA wins at this year's Television Craft Awards. Academy members received two additional episodes of both series on DVD as part of a special "outsert" advertisement in the April 7 issue of Emmy Magazine. Additionally, the SHO FYC screening room will include entire seasons of all of the network's eligible series, including HAPPYish, starring Oscar(R) and Golden Globe nominee Steve Coogan, Kathryn Hahn and Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Bradley Whitford, which will showcase episodes as they debut on-air. SHOWTIME also hosted panels for Television Academy members in Los Angeles earlier this month, which featured the cast and creative minds behind MASTERS OF SEX and THE AFFAIR.
