WARRIOR (Cinemax, New!) - Writer Jonathan Tropper ("Banshee") and director Justin Lin ("Scorpion") are set to team for a potential drama at the pay channel inspired by the writing of martial arts icon Bruce Lee. Said effort is billed as "a visceral crime drama that traces the path of a gifted but morally corrupt fighter thrown into crisis after a lifelong quest for vengeance is undermined." Perfect Storm Entertainment's Troy Craig Poon and Danielle Woodrow as well as Bruce Lee Enterprises' Shannon Lee will likewise executive produce. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Steven Williams will recur on "The Leftovers" as "an outcast who proves to be an unlikely confidant to Justin Theroux's Kevin Garvey" (Deadline.com); Gabriela De La Garza has scored an arc on Netflix's "Narcos" as "real-life journalist Diana Turbay, who crosses paths with Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal)" (Deadline.com); TNT has passed on its proposed "Major Crimes" spin-off focusing on the Special Operations Bureau's tactical unit (TVLine.com); Greg Grunberg will reprise his role as Matt Parkman on NBC's "Heroes Reborn" revival (TVLine.com); and Ann Dowd will drop by Cinemax's "Quarry" as "a big-hearted woman whose favorite pastimes are smoking, drinking, gambling and doting on her best friend and only son, Buddy (Damon Herriman), despite his unconventional and illicit lifestyle" (TVLine.com).
