FAN-DRIVEN PROGRAMMING MARATHON AND TWITTER PARTY PLANNED FOR 'FIXER UPPER' ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

[For Immediate Release - May 21, 2015] Now that they've cast online votes for their favorite seven episodes of HGTV's smash hit Fixer Upper, viewers can settle in for the network's first fan-driven programming marathon on Saturday, May 23, from 1 p.m. ET/PT to 8 p.m. ET/PT. In addition, fans of the series can live tweet with stars Chip and Joanna Gaines from 7 p. m. to 8 p.m. ET/PT using #FixerUpper. A top ratings performer, Fixer Upper, features the Gaines' as they balance their renovation, restoration and remodeling business while parenting four young children. Each episode showcases the Gaines as they help homebuyers look past the dilapidated state of an old home and transform it into a dream home.
Fixer Upper attracted more than 24 million viewers during its second season, growing 72% among viewers P25-54 versus its first season and growing 104% versus the Tuesday 9P-10P time period last year. An episode airing on January 20 was the highest-rated single telecast of any series on HGTV in five years and ranks among the Top 25 telecasts in HGTV's history. Fixer Upper also attracts one of the most upscale audiences on cable. For the Tuesday 9P-10P time period, the series was the #2 cable program among upscale W25-54. Fixer Upper is currently in production for its third and fourth seasons which will hit the air in the fall.
