THE ROSS KIDS LEAVE THE BIG APPLE FOR THE GREAT OUTDOORS
IN DISNEY CHANNEL'S NEW COMEDY SERIES "BUNK'D,"
PREMIERING FRIDAY, JULY 31
Emma, Ravi, and Zuri Ross have left their New York penthouse for summer camp at Maine's rustic Camp Kikiwaka, in Disney Channel's new live-action comedy series "BUNK'D," a spin-off of the hit comedy series "Jessie," debuting FRIDAY, JULY 31 on Disney Channel. The series premieres immediately following the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie "Descendants" (8:00 p.m., ET/PT).
"BUNK'D" follows siblings Emma, Ravi and Zuri Ross as they embark on their summer at Camp Kikiwaka, a rustic summer camp in Maine where their parents met as teenagers. Emma and Ravi step into new roles as CITs (Counselor In Training), learning how to be resourceful, responsible role models to their campers. Lou, the cheerful head counselor, and Xander, the camp heartthrob, befriend the Ross kids, who are complete fish out of water in the great outdoors, and step in to show them the ropes. Zuri makes new friends with her fellow campers, the anxious and overly studious Tiffany and compulsive fibber Jorge. Along with their new friends, Emma, Ravi and Zuri adapt to their new "home away from home" and settle into their exciting new lives at Camp Kikiwaka.
Reprising their starring roles from "Jessie" are Peyton List ("The Outskirts," "27 Dresses," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days") as Emma, Karan Brar ("Diary of a Wimpy Kid," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days") as Ravi and Skai Jackson ("The Watsons Go to Washington") as Zuri. Joining the cast are Miranda May ("The Heartbreak Kid," "Samantha Who?") as Lou, Kevin Quinn ("Shameless," "Chicago P.D.") as Xander, and newcomers Nina Lu as Tiffany and Nathan Arenas as Jorge.
In the premiere episode, the Ross kids arrive at camp. The camp's owner, Gladys (played by Mary Scheer), is even scarier than the legendary creature that's rumored to stalk the grounds. With the help of her sneaky niece Hazel, she's out to get the Ross kids because of her decades-old rivalry with their mom.
The "BUNK'D" premiere episode simulcast will be available to verified users on WATCHDisneyChannel.com and the WATCH Disney Channel app for smartphones and tablets.
The series was created by Pamela Eells O'Connell ("Jessie," "Family Matters," "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," "The Suite Life on Deck"), who serves as executive producer. "BUNK'D" is a production of It's a Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-G parental guideline.

Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart and Sofia Carson star as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney's most infamous villains, in Disney's "Descendants," a live-action movie that - with a knowing wink at traditional fairy tales - fuses castles with classrooms to create a contemporary, music-driven story about the challenges in living up to parental and peer expectations. Made for kids, tweens and families, the movie premieres FRIDAY, JULY 31 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel and Friday, July 24 to verified users on the WATCH Disney Channel app and WATCHDisneyChannel.com. The notable cast also includes Mitchell Hope, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Maz Jobrani, Kathy Najimy and the Tony Award-winning Kristin Chenoweth.
Disney's "Descendants" will also usher in Disney Channel's new comedy series "BUNK'D," premiering immediately after the movie.
Emmy Award-winning Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical") directs, choreographs and executive-produces Disney's "Descendants." Wendy Japhet ("An Education," "The Italian Job") is also an executive producer. Paul Becker ("So You Think You Can Dance Canada") is the co-choreographer. The script was written by Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott (creators and Emmy and WGA Award-nominated writers on "The Starter Wife"; writers of "Runaway Bride"), who are also co-producers. Mark Hofeling ("Teen Beach Movie," "High School Musical") is the production designer and Kara Saun ("Project Runway") is the costume designer.
The story, set in the idyllic kingdom of Auradon, playfully presents the unexpected possibilities of what happens after the "happily ever after." As it unfolds, Ben, the benevolent teenage son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast"), is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation is to offer a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, the trouble-making offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar, who have all been sequestered on the forbidden Isle of the Lost for 20 years. These villainous descendants are allowed into Auradon for the first time to attend prep school alongside the teenage progeny of Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. Only time will tell if these evil teens follow in the footsteps of their wicked parents.
As these sons and daughters of evil meet the children of goodness, their story incorporates empowering themes about self-confidence, finding the beauty within, freedom of choice, personal responsibility, teamwork, justice and empathy.
