MTV PROMOTES MINA LEFEVRE TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND HEAD OF SCRIPTED DEVELOPMENT

SANTA MONICA, CA - July 22, 2015 - MTV, a unit of Viacom (NASDAQ VIAB, VIA), has promoted Mina Lefevre to the role of Executive Vice President and Head of Scripted Development, overseeing all scripted development and programming for the network. Since joining MTV in 2013 as Senior Vice President of Scripted Programming, Lefevre has launched hits including "Scream," "Finding Carter," and "Faking It," and is developing the forthcoming fantasy epic "The Shannara Chronicles." Lefevre will report directly to Stephen Friedman, President of MTV, alongside Lauren Dolgen, Head of Reality Programming and Executive Vice President of Series Development.

"From 'Shannara' to 'Finding Carter,' Mina has an incredible talent for developing entirely new worlds, stories, and characters that always feel relatable and real to our fans," said Friedman. "As MTV continues to pursue even more ambitious scripted projects, we're thrilled to have the leadership of a creative, collaborative executive like Mina."

"MTV is a great place to take risks and create smart, fun projects that tell unique, youthful stories, and I'm excited to take on a greater role as we bring more original series to our audience," said Lefevre.

Since Lefevre joined in 2013, MTV has had more cable series in the top 25 than any other network. Most recently, Lefevre developed "Scream," which has been viewed by nearly 20 million people across platforms since its series debut in June. Lefevre also developed "Finding Carter," the number one original series in its time period, as well as "Faking It," which returns for the second half of its second season on August 31 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.*

Prior to joining MTV, Lefevre served as Vice President of Development and Programming at ABC Family, where she helped launch the network and developed some of its highest-rated hits, including "Pretty Little Liars" and "Melissa & Joey," and oversaw the network's original movie slate. Lefevre originally joined ABC Family's predecessor, Fox Family Network. Earlier, she held roles at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Flicker Fusion Films, a producer of several independent features and shorts.
