AMY SCHUMER: LIVE FROM THE APOLLO, featuring the comedy star in her first HBO stand-up special, debuts SATURDAY, OCT. 17 (10:00-11:00 p.m.ET/PT). Directed by Chris Rock and taped May 29 before a live audience at New York's iconic Apollo Theater, the one-hour special features Schumer talking about her life.
Amy Schumer is the creator, star, writer and executive producer of the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy(R)-nominated series "Inside Amy Schumer." She won a Critics' Choice Television Award for the series this year. Schumer can currently be seen in the feature film "Trainwreck," which she wrote and stars in. Her one-hour stand-up special, "Mostly Sex Stuff," stands as the highest-rated Comedy Central original stand-up special since 2011. Schumer's other credits include "Louie," "Delocated" and HBO's "Girls" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Chris Rock directed and starred in the critically acclaimed film "Top Five."
Schumer joins a long list of stellar comedians who have starred in HBO stand-up specials, including Louis C.K., Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, George Carlin, Jamie Foxx, Jerry Seinfeld, George Lopez, Sarah Silverman, Bill Maher, Katt Williams, Wanda Sykes and Lewis Black.
