GROUP, THE (TBS/WHT; W: David Jenkins; D: Greg Daniels) - Michael Cassidy ("Men at Work") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a support group for people who think they have been abducted by aliens that is the subject of a snarky feature piece by skeptical journalist Wyatt Jones (Wyatt Cenac). He'll play Wyatt's boss Jonathan Walsh, "the charismatic and wildly successful young CEO of Walsh Media, a massive conglomerate." Alice Wetterlund, Ana Gasteyer, Brian Huskey, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Marylouise Burke, Oscar Nunez and Tracee Chimo also star. (Deadline.com)
HOME (TNT, New!) - Aron Eli Coleite's drama, "a dramatic thriller that delves into the secrets lingering behind the facade of a seemingly idyllic suburban family," has landed a pilot order at TNT. Said effort was previously set at FOX last year with an eye towards a straight-to-series order. Warner Horizon Television and Jerry Bruckheimer Television are still behind the hour with the latter's Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman executive producing and KristieAnne Reed as a co-executive producer. Brad Anderson is already attached to direct and executive produce. (Deadline.com)
LOVING DAY (Showtime, New!) - Mat Johnson's semi-autobiographical novel is being developed as a comedy at the pay channel. The project tells the story of Warren Duffy, "an Irish/African-American living in Wales who returns to America after his comic book store closes, his marriage falls apart and his father dies. Now in possession of his late father's deteriorated Philadelphia mansion - which might be haunted - a new surprise emerges: Duffy learns he has a teenage daughter who thinks she's white. Random House Studio's Peter Gethers and Jeffrey Levine will executive produce alongside Johnson. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ELWOOD REID PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Elwood Reid ("The Bridge") has sold a new drama to the network which "follows the woman with the most lethal mind in America, a brilliant and ruthless military professor who is recruited by a former student to help a covert branch of the CIA deal with high-priority targets." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the project, which has a penalty attached, with Film 44's Peter Berg and Alissa Bachner also serving as executive producer and co-producer, respectively.
