STAMFORD, CONN. - September 15, 2015 - The fifth season of NFL Turning Point begins tomorrow night, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 11 p.m. ET, and breaks down Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys' game-winning drive against the New York Giants; the head-to-head matchup between rookie QBs Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston; Rex Ryan and Todd Bowles in-game audio; and Clay Matthews' interception in the final moments of Packers-Bears.
Hosted by Football Night In America's Dan Patrick, the hour-long NFL Turning Point, co-produced by NFL Films, will air weekly throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.
This week's episode features:
· Giants-Cowboys: NFL Films examines the play of Giants QB Eli Manning and Cowboys QB Tony Romo, and how their performances in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter ultimately decided the outcome of the game. NFL Turning Point studies the Giants' play call on third and goal, Manning's decision to ultimately throw away the pass, instead of taking a sack, and reviews how the play allowed Romo to engineer a game-winning touchdown drive with 1:29 left on the clock.
· Rex Ryan and Todd Bowles: Wednesday night's episode will also feature BOSE Sounds of The Game segments with Bills head coach Rex Ryan and Jets head coach Todd Bowles, who were wired-for-sound during their respective matchups between the Colts and Browns on Sunday.
· Titans-Buccaneers: NFL Turning Point breaks down Sunday's game between Tennessee and Tampa Bay, and analyzes the contrasting debuts of the league's two most prominent rookie quarterbacks. NFL Films reviews the play of Titans QB Marcus Mariota, and highlights how the rookie QB's strong performance was the "turning point" in the game, and possibly the franchise. In addition, the segment shines a spotlight on the less successful outing of Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston.
· Packers-Bears: NFL Turning Point analyzes the final minutes of Sunday's matchup between Green Bay and Chicago, and how LB Clay Matthews' interception disrupted the Bears' potential game-tying drive and led to a game- clinching touchdown for the Packers.
Each week NFL Turning Point is built around select NFL matchups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial "turning point" moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show also features anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long-form game-of-the-week style narratives that include pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.
In 2015 NBCSN will air a total of 21 episodes. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 4, 2016, will look back at the "turning point" of Super Bowl 50.
