43, THE (NBC, New!) - Erik Jendresen ("Band of Brothers") is looking to revisit World War II with a six-part mini-series for the Peacock and the BBC. Said effort would "chronicle the true story of a Jewish vigilante group who, between the years of 1946 and 1950, fought the rise of fascism that was emerging on the streets of Britain. Then, in 1950, having won the war against the British Nazis, the group disappeared, taking their story with them for nearly 70 years - until now." The Tenafly Film Company's Josh Sugarman, Tiger Aspect Productions' Will Gould and The Exchange's Brian O'Shea are also executive producers with Daniel Sonabend and Luke Brandon Field providing research for Jendresen. FLAKED (Netflix; W: Mark Chappell & Will Arnett; D: TBA) - Christopher Mintz-Plasse has boarded the upcoming comedy, the serio-comic story of a self-appointed "guru" who falls for the object (Ruth Kearney) of his best friend's (David Sullivan) fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel. Will Arnett plays Chip, a man doing his honest best to stay one step ahead of his own lies. He'll recur as Topher, "a tech whiz kid new to Venice and desperate to fit in." (Deadline.com)
GRAVES (Epix/Lionsgate; W/D: Joshua Michael Stern) - Heléne Yorke ("Masters of Sex") has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy, about a former President of the United States. Twenty years after his presidency, former President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte) has the epiphany that his policies have damaged the country for decades and so, with his young assistant (Skylar Astin), he goes on a Don Quixote-like journey to right his administration's wrongs just as his wife, the former First Lady, decides to follow her own political ambitions. She'll play Olivia Graves, "who was the perfect darling of the country as the First Daughter growing up in the White House." Angélica María and Chris Lowell also star. (Deadline.com)
HELLO AGAIN (CBS, New!) - Liz Feldman ("One Big Happy") has snagged a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a multi-camera comedy about "a mostly happily married woman whose life gets turned upside down when the only other man she's ever loved moves in next door." Warner Bros. Television is behind the half-hour with Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
HOSED (FOX, New!) - Luvh Rakhe ("New Girl") has landed a put pilot commitment at the network for a single-camera comedy about "volunteer firefighters in America's second-rainiest town." 20th Century Fox Television-based Wedding Punch is behind the half-hour with the company's Ty Burrell, Johnny Meeks, Joel Spence and Mel Cowan also among the executive producers. HOW TO SPEAK AMERICAN (CBS, New!) - Bobby Bowman ("Family Tools") has sold a hybrid comedy to the Eye about "a coddled millennial who teaches ESL to a variety of immigrants, who in turn, teach him about grit, courage and hustle." CBS Television Studios-based Amigos de Garcia Productions is behind the half-hour with the company's Greg Garcia also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
I'M DYING UP HERE (Showtime/Endemol; W: Dave Flebotte; D: Jonathan Levine) - Stephen Guarino has scored a role on the Jim Carrey-produced drama pilot, which centers on L.A.'s celebrated and infamous stand-up comedy scene of the 1970s. He's set as Sully, "a zany stand-up out of Chicago who is described as over-the-top to the point of tiresome in the dark comedy." Andrew Santino, Erik Griffin and R.J. Cyler also star. (THR.com)
JACK RYAN (Amazon, New!) - The streaming service has reportedly given a series commitment to Paramount Television for its proposed drama featuring Tom Clancy's popular hero Jack Ryan billed as "a new contemporary take on the character in his prime as a CIA analyst/operative using the novels as source material." Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland are spearheading the project, which will also be co-produced by Carlton Cuse Productions, Platinum Dunes and Skydance Media. Among the executive producers are Lindsey Springer, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Mace Neufeld. In the features, Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine all played Ryan over the years. (Deadline.com)
RANCH, THE (Netflix; W: Don Reo & Jim Patterson; D: TBA) - Elisha Cuthbert ("One Big Happy") has signed onto the Ashton Kutcher/Danny Masterson-led multi-camera comedy, in which Kutcher's character Colt Bennett returns home after a brief semi-pro football career to run the family business with his brother Jimmy, played by Masterson. She'll play Cold's old flame, a former cheerleader. Debra Winger and Sam Elliott also star. (Deadline.com)
REAL ROB (Netflix, New!) - Rob Schneider's self-produced comedy series has found a home at the streaming service. The eight-episode project, due on December 1, follows Schneider "as he manages the ups and downs of a Hollywood career, his family life, ever-present stalker (Max Amini) and his completely incompetent assistant (Jamie Lissow)." Tricon Films & Television is distributing the series with Schneider himself producing and directing. No other auspices were given. (THR.com)
Y'ALL IN THE FAMILY (CBS, New!) - Stephnie Weir ("The Millers") is back in business with the Eye for a new multi-camera comedy "set in Texas and centers on a conservative, small town family who is forced to reconcile their family values when they discover their children's lives are less than perfect." Greg Garcia of the CBS Television Studios-based Amigos de Garcia Productions will likewise executive produce. (Deadline.com)
