LOS ANGELES, October 5, 2015 - FXM will air the Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) winning first installment of FX's limited series Fargo on October 11, the day before the premiere of the highly-anticipated second installment. The Fargo marathon will air all 10 episodes in sequence beginning at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT and feature a commercial-free exhibition of the first episode, "The Crocodile's Dilemma."
An adaptation of the classic Academy Award(R) winning feature film of the same title by Joel & Ethan Coen, the first installment of Fargo features Oscar(R) winner Billy Bob Thornton as "Lorne Malvo," a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small town insurance salesman "Lester Nygaard," played by BAFTA(R) and Emmy winner Martin Freeman. Colin Hanks plays Duluth Police Deputy "Gus Grimly," a single dad who is forced to choose between his personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer. Allison Tolman also stars as "Molly Solverson," an ambitious Bemidji deputy.
Fargo garnered universal critical acclaim and received an astounding 18 Emmy nominations in 2014 and won three awards, including Outstanding Miniseries; Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special (Colin Bucksey); and Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or Special (Rachel Tenner). It also won two Golden Globe awards, including Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television (Thornton).
The all-new second installment of Fargo, which premieres on FX on October 12 at 10 PM ET/PT, follows a young State Trooper (Patrick Wilson) and his Sheriff father-in-law (Ted Danson) as they investigate a grizzly case involving a local crime family and a major mob syndicate, and a small town beautician (Kirsten Dunst) and her husband (Jesse Plemons) who inadvertently get caught in the middle. Emmy Award winning Executive Producers Noah Hawley, Joel & Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron all return for the new installment. FX's Fargo is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions, with MGM Television serving as the lead studio.
