TLC'S NEW SERIES "MARRIED BY MOM AND DAD" TAKES AN OLD SCHOOL APPROACH BY LETTING PARENTS SELECT SPOUSES FOR THEIR HOPEFUL SINGLES
New Series, Married By Mom and Dad Premieres Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 10/9c on TLC
(Silver Spring, MD) - Online dating, mobile apps, and matchmaking through friends may be viable options for some, but not all. When the modern ways of dating don't work, four singles go to the two people who know them best - their parents - in hopes of finding their soulmates and walking down the aisle. MARRIED BY MOM AND DAD premieres Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 10/9 c on TLC.
MARRIED BY MOM AND DAD is a modern take on voluntary arranged marriages, based on old school tradition and real world success. Four singles who have been unable to find love in the world of modern dating, have now agreed to put their future into the hands of their parents. We follow each mom and dad through the process of meeting and vetting the potential future spouses and watch their kids meet their life partners for the first time. But the real work begins as the couples get to know what they like, dislike, and everything in between.
Meet our four singles searching for wedded bliss:
Mitch Sargent (Los Angeles, CA): a 30-year-old certified level II sommelier and full-time wine salesman, Mitch has had a hard time meeting the perfect girl in the L.A. dating scene. He wants the love and stability marriage can bring.
Marivic Febiar (Valley Cottage, NY): Marivic is outgoing, opinionated, fun-loving... and very single. A 34-year-old full-time nurse, she lives with her parents outside of New York City. She's asked her traditional, Filipino parents to date on her behalf and choose the man that is right for her.
J ohn Coultrip (Denver, CO): John has had a good time casually dating, but he recently turned 31 and is ready to find his perfect match.
Christina Rollyson (Charleston, SC): Christina recently moved from her hometown of Charleston, West Virginia, to Charleston, South Carolina, to start her own travel agency and has had a hard time dating due to her long work hours. But the 33-year old is finally ready to settle down and devote her time to finding love.
Some would say these four singles are crazy, but in some cultures, an arranged marriage is the norm. The question is - Do Mom and Dad really know best?
MARRIED BY MOM AND DAD is produced by Thinkfactory Media for TLC.
