FS1 BUILDS HOLIDAY MEGA-MARATHONS WITH EVERYTHING FROM THE TEE BOX TO THE RACE TRACK TO THE OCTAGON
U.S. Open Featured on Christmas Eve;
NASCAR Takes Center Stage on Christmas Day; UFC Rings in the New Year
Charlotte, N.C. - FS1 loads up for the holidays, scheduling multi-sport, mega-marathons from the time the Jolly Ol' Elf hops in his sleigh on Christmas Eve until the last dose of homemade hangover cure is downed on New Year's Day.
FS1 opens its 2015 holiday marathon lineup with 14 consecutive hours of U.S. OPEN-themed programming, beginning Thursday, Dec. 24 (9:00 AM ET) with U.S. OPEN 1999: PAYNE REIGNS and U.S. OPEN 2000: TIGER ROARS (10:00 AM ET). The 116th U.S. OPEN airs on FOX and FS1 in 2016, with live coverage from Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa., on June 16-19.
NASCAR fans get a little extra under their trees on Christmas Day, as FS1 drops the green flag on a 17-hour NASCAR marathon, beginning Friday, Dec. 25 (6:00 AM ET) with three consecutive hours of NASCAR RACE HUB: BEST OF THE YEAR and culminating with a replay of the 2015 Daytona 500.
In 2016, four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon joins the FOX NASCAR television booth, joining Hall-of-Famer Darrell Waltrip and Mike Joy, beginning at Daytona Speedweeks in February and highlighted by live coverage of the 58th running of the iconic DAYTONA 500 on FOX on Feb. 21.
On Saturday, Dec. 26, the vehicles get a little bigger and a little louder, as FS1 airs 14 consecutive events from the 2015 MONSTER JAM monster truck season, beginning at 9:00 AM ET.
And to ring in 2016, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are loaded with UFC programming, including a replay of the Chad Mendes vs. Conor McGregor fight on Thursday, Dec. 31 (8:00 PM ET) and the live weigh-in for the Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit title bout on Friday, Jan. 1 (7:00 PM ET) in preparation for UFC 195 on Jan. 2, with the Preliminary Card live on FS1.
In addition, FS1 also offers a selection of live Big East men's basketball games, beginning with Xavier at Villanova on Thursday, Dec. 31 (Noon ET) and Creighton at St. John's (2:00 PM ET), followed by the Pac-12 matchup of UCLA at Washington on Friday, Jan. 1 (11:00 PM ET).
