Charlie Puth (Jan. 8), Weezer (Jan. 15) and the Backstreet Boys (Jan. 29) Join the Gang as NBC's Live Comedy Sings in the New Year

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Jan. 7, 2016 - "Undateable" (Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT) returns with a brand-new live episode on Friday, January 8 with Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Charlie Puth set as musical guest. On January 15, acclaimed rock band Weezer arrives on set, and chart-topping sensations the Backstreet Boys perform January 29. This season's musical guests have also included Nico and Vinz, Kodaline, Saint Motel, Meghan Trainor, American Authors, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and Alessia Cara.

"Undateable" stars Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, Bianca Kajlich, Bridgit Mendler, Ron Funches, David Fynn and Rick Glassman and is executive produced by Bill Lawrence, Adam Sztykiel and Jeff Ingold. The series, created by Sztykiel, is currently in its third season, and is produced by Doozer in association with Warner Bros. Television.

ABOUT THE MUSICAL GUESTS

As Charlie Puth gears up to release his debut album "Nine Track Mind," it's worth looking back at the extraordinary ride this multi-talented vocalist, musician, producer and versatile songwriter has been on ever since he arrived in Los Angeles as an aspiring artist in July 2014. In short order, Puth signed with Atlantic Records and co-wrote, co-produced and featured on Wiz Khalifa's "Furious 7" ballad "See You Again" - a 4x-platinum smash that topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks, tying the record for the longest run at #1 for a rap song, and became #1 in more than 100 countries while its video racked up more than a billion YouTube views. He followed that up with the British chart-topper "Marvin Gaye," featuring Meghan Trainor, which gave Puth another platinum record and his second Top 40 hit in the U.S. He made the morning talk show and late-night TV rounds ("Saturday Night Live," "Today," "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon"), hit the road opening for Trainor on her U.S. tour and ended 2015 with an array of accolades, including two Teen Choice Awards, a Hollywood Film Award, two American Music Award, MTV Video Music Award, and MTV Europe Award nominations, plus a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song. As if that weren't enough, Puth received an impressive three Grammy nominations, including the coveted Song of the Year category that specifically recognizes songwriters.

Weezer was formed in 1992 in Los Angeles. The rock band gained acclaim with their 1994 triple-platinum self-titled debut release (also known as "The Blue Album") that featured hits like "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So." In 1996 they released "Pinkerton," which along with "The Blue Album," have been cited among the best albums of the '90s. After a hiatus, Weezer returned in 2001 with another critically acclaimed self-titled release (also known as "The Green Album"), which featured hits like "Hash Pipe" and "Island in the Sun." Weezer released its fourth album, "Maladroit,"in 2002. In 2005, the band released "Make Believe," which featured the hit single "Beverly Hills," which became their first to reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, their third self-titled album (also known as "The Red Album") was released and featured the hit single "Pork and Beans." They have also released the albums "Raditude" (2009), "Hurley" (2010) and "Everything Will Be Alright in the End" (2014). Weezer has sold 9.2 million albums in the U.S. and more than 17 million worldwide and currently consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals).

For 22 years the Backstreet Boys, one of the most successful groups in music history, has continually delivered the finest pop music one has to offer, making them one of pop's most influential performers. With countless #1s, record-setting tours, many awards and worldwide sales in excess of 130 million, BSB has been recognized as the best-selling boy band in history. In 2013, BSB celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of the album "In a World Like This," which saw the group receive a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame, perform for the President of the United States, and make an unforgettable appearance in the Seth Rogen hit film "This Is the End." Due to the overwhelming demand, the "In a World Like This" world tour was extended multiple times, amounting to what became the group's biggest tour in over 10 years. BSB are currently in the studio working on their next album.
