24: LEGACY (FOX/20th; W: Evan Katz & Manny Coto; D: Stephen Hopkins) - Sheila Vand ("State of Affairs") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, which will revolve around military hero Eric Carter's (Corey Hawkins) return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back - compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. She'll play Nilaa, "the campaign director of Sen. Donovan (Jimmy Smits) who is driven and bright and won't take a back seat to the judgment of Donovan's wife, Rebecca (Miranda Otto)." (Deadline.com)

BLACKLIST, THE (NBC) - Tawny Cypress ("Unforgettable") has been cast in the show's upcoming backdoor pilot episode, airing May 12, which would transition Famke Janssen, Ryan Eggold and Edi Gathegi's character into a new series. She'll play Nez Rowan on the project, details of which remain under wraps. (Deadline.com)

ELSEWHERE (TV Land, New!) - Noelle Valdivia and Corinne Kingsbury have sold a new comedy to the cable channel about "a successful but shallow woman who, after dying in a car accident, realizes she prioritized all the wrong things in her life. Now, she has a second chance to achieve enlightenment against all odds - in purgatory." Robin Schwartz of Brillstein Entertainment Partners will also serve as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)

SHOTS FIRED (FOX/20th; W: Gina Prince-Bythewood & Reggie Rock Bythewood; D: Gina Prince-Bythewood) - Jill Hennessy ("Madam Secretary") is the latest to sign onto the event series, which examines the dangerous aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small town in Tennessee. She'll play Alicia Carr, "the affluent mother of the teen involved in a police shooting. Angry, distraught and devastated by the death of her son at the hands of a police officer, she doesn't care about the politics of the investigation, she just wants her son's murderer brought to justice." (Deadline.com)
