Netflix Announces New Comedy Documentary, "HANNIBAL TAKES EDINBURGH," will Debut April 8
The Feature-Length Documentary Follows Comedian Hannibal Buress Performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe for 28 Days
Beverly Hills, Calif., April 6, 2016 -- Netflix, the world's leading Internet TV network, today announced Hannibal Takes Edinburgh, a feature-length documentary film featuring comedian Hannibal Buress, will debut globally on Friday, April 8.
Filmed over the course of 28 days in August 2012, Hannibal Takes Edinburgh follows Buress as the then up-and-coming comedian performed nightly to packed houses at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest art and comedy festival in the world. The film blends extended moments from Buress' pin-sharp observational stand-up with scenes of the comedian waxing philosophic on building his comedy routine, life on the road for a comedian and immersing himself in the Scottish culture.
Coming in hot after a sold out national theater stand-up tour, his own TV series, and a successful run on Broad City, Netflix debuted Buress' third hour standup comedy special, Comedy Camisado, debuted on Netflix in February of this year.
Hannibal Takes Edinburgh is produced by Bird Gang Bang Birds and Apatow Productions. Hannibal Buress and Judd Apatow are the executive producers. The film is directed by Ryan Ferguson.
