NIECY NASH AND BETTY GILPIN JOIN "MASTERS OF SEX" FOR MAJOR STORY ARCS
Critically-Acclaimed Series Returns For Fourth Season On
September 11th At 10 PM ET/PT On SHOWTIME(R)
LOS ANGELES, CA - June 9, 2016 - Niecy Nash and Betty Gilpin will be guest stars on the fourth season of Showtime Networks' critically acclaimed drama series MASTERS OF SEX. Nash, who will appear in a multi-episode arc, plays Louise Bell, a local AA - chairperson running Masters' (Michael Sheen) court-ordered daily meetings. She fervently believes in AA's message, and uses it to push Masters to reevaluate his life. Gilpin, who will also appear in a multi-episode arc, will play Nancy, a former medical student of Barton's (Beau Bridges), who partners with Masters adding a second MD to the practice. Production on season four recently began in Los Angeles.
Premiering Sunday, September 11th at 10 PM ET/PT, MASTERS OF SEX stars Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominee Michael Sheen and Emmy nominee Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Also starring Caitlin FitzGerald and Tony(R) Award winner Annaleigh Ashford, the new season begins in 1968, and will take viewers into the "swinging '70s," during which time he series' characters will take on new partners both professionally, personally and sexually. MASTERS OF SEX was developed for television by Michelle Ashford (The Pacific) who also serves as an executive producer. In addition, the series is executive produced by Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Amy Lippman and Judith Verno. Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, Tammy Rosen and Thomas Maier serve as producers. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, MASTERS OF SEX is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love.
Niecy Nash is a multi-talented Primetime Emmy nominee and Emmy-Award winning producer who many remember from the popular home-makeover show Clean House and from the acclaimed comedy, Reno 911. She has since expanded her brand as a comedienne and actress starring in the popular television series The Soul Man and starring as a series regular on Getting On. She will star in three television projects simultaneously when Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens returns for a second season. Adding to her accolades, Nash was recently nominated for both a Critics'Choice Award and a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Getting On. Nash's other television credits include The Bernie Mac Show, Presidio Med, That's Life, Popular, and City of Angels.
Betty Gilpin recently starred as Dr. Carrie Roman in the critically acclaimed SHOWTIME series Nurse Jackie. She created the role of 'Elizabeth' in the premiere of Sam Shepard's Heartless at the Signature Theatre in New York and made her Off-Broadway debut in the Second Stage Theatre production of Roberto Aguirre-Saca's Good Boys and True. She appeared in the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of The Language Archive, the Second Stage Theatre production of Howard Korder's Boys Life and in the Manhattan Theatre Club productions of That Face and We Live Here. Additional television and film appearances include a recurring role in Elementary, The Good Wife, Past Life, The Unusuals, Possible Side Effects, Fringe, New Amsterdam, Law and Order, Law and Order: Criminal Intent,Law and Order: SVU, Medium, Death in Love, The Northern Kingdom, Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais, Beach Pillows and the Civil War based PBS miniseries, Mercy Street. Gilpin received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Fordham College at Lincoln Center and lives in New York City.
