Spike Brings Eight More Actors Into "The Mist"
"The Mist" tells the story of a foreboding mist that arrives in one small town ushering in a terrifying new reality for its residents, putting their humanity to the test.

TWC-Dimension Television Production Set to Begin This Month

Premieres on Spike in 2017

New York, NY, July 13, 2016 - Further casting has been announced for Spike's new original scripted series "The Mist," based on the classic Stephen King novella of the same name. From TWC-Dimension Television (TV), "The Mist" goes into production later this summer and premieres on Spike in 2017.

"The Mist" tells the story of a foreboding mist that arrives in one small town ushering in a terrifying new reality for its residents, putting their humanity to the test. What will people do to survive when blinded by fear? The additional casting includes (in alphabetical order):

Gus Birney as "Alex Cunningham," the teenage daughter of Kevin and Eve Cunningham. She's always been the 'good daughter,' but her over-protective mother helps to kick-start a rebellious streak. Birney is currently appearing in "The Rose Tattoo" at the Williamstown Theater Festival opposite Marisa Tomei. She is repped by CESD and Suskin Management.

Dan Butler as "Father Romanov," a priest who is caught in between modernity and tradition, he has lost his faith but clings to the ritual. Dan's many credits range from "Silence of the Lambs" to "Crazy, Stupid Love," on film; from "Frasier" to "Prayers for Bobby" to "From the Earth to the Moon," on TV, as well as major roles on and off Broadway. Independent films include "Chronic Town," "Fixing Frank" and his award winning writing and directing ventures, "Karl Rove, I Love You" and "Pearl." Butler is represented by CESD and Station 3.

Luke Cosgrove as "Jay Heisel," a popular local football superstar and the son of the town sheriff who finds himself accused of a heinous crime. Cosgrove was born in Nambour, Queensland and raised on the Sunshine Coast, spending much of his time in the ocean surfing. He started acting at the age of 11 and in his late teens, he moved to Brisbane to pursue his passion professionally, where he starred in several short independent Australian productions. This is his first television role. Cosgrove is represented by Authentic and BMEG in Australia.

Danica Curcic as "Mia Lambert," a drug-addicted woman on the run and in search of a mysterious stash of money. Curcic is an award-winning Serbian-Danish actress. After several leading roles in productions at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen, she segued her career into feature films including "on The Edge," "The Absent One," "Silent Heart," "All Inclusive" and "Gold Coast." Her upcoming films include the WWII drama "Across the Waters" and "Darling," where she plays a world-renown ballerina. She will also appear in the Norwegian TV series "Nobel" about the Afgan War. Curcic is represented by Untitled.

Okezie Morro as "Jonah Dixon," a military man with amnesia. He can't remember who he is. As the truth about his identity unravels, shocking secrets will be revealed. Morro is a graduate of the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His first film role was in the George Lucas-produced World War II epic "Red Tails" opposite Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard and David Oyelowo. He immediately followed up with a supporting role in "World War Z." His television credits include MTV's "Shuga" and BBC's "New Tricks." Morrow is represented by United Agents in London and NB Management in LA.

Darren Pettie as "Connor Heisel," the local alpha male, town sheriff and father to local football superstar Jay. He struggles to maintain order in an increasingly chaotic and dangerous situation, finding himself up against many who have it out for his accused son. A veteran of both screen and stage, Pettit recently wrapped production on "Sidney Hall." His latest film, "The Scarecrow," premiered at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. In television, Pettie was last seen on The Good Wife (CBS), and additional recent credits include Rizzoli & Isles (TNT), Scandal (ABC), and Pan Am (ABC). Pettie is represented by TalentWorks and Sanders.Armstrong.Caserta Management.

Russell Posner as "Adrian Garff," an insecure young teenager who comes to the defense of his best friend Alex, after she is the victim of a brutal crime. A witness to the crime, he finds himself at the center of a controversy which threatens to rip apart the community. Russell Posner broke onto the scene with a starring role in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival darling "The D Train" with Jack Black and James Marsden. Prior to that, Posner had supporting roles in "Louder Than Bombs" with Gabriel Bryne and Jesse Eisenberg and John Turturo's "Fading Gigolo" with Woody Allen. Posner is represented by Authentic and the Gersh Agency.

Isiah Whitlock, Jr. as "Gus Redman," a local mall manager. When a new society forms from the mist survivors at the mall, Gus will have to decide if he will take the role of leader and exactly how far he will go to keep order. Whitlock recently completed filming Warner Bros "Chips," directed by Dax Shepard, and the Independent film "Human People." He also recently appeared in Amazon's "Chi-Raq" directed by Spike Lee and the remake of Disney's "Pete's Dragon" being released this August. On television, Whitlock starred as 'Senator Clay Davis' on the acclaimed HBO series "The Wire." He currently recurs on HBO's Emmy(R)-winning comedy series "Veep" as 'Secretary of Defense General George Maddox.' He will next be seen starring this fall in the FX series "Atlanta" and FOX's "Son of Zorn." Whitlock is represented by CornerStone Talent Agency and Liebman Entertainment.

Christian Torpe and Amanda Segel are Executive Producers of "The Mist."

Bob Weinstein, Harvey Weinstein and David Glasser are Executive Producers for TWC-Dimension Television with Megan Spanjian, Matthew Signer and Keith Levine as Producers.

Levy, Ted Gold, Senior Vice President, Scripted Original Series, and Lauren Ruggiero, Senior Director, Scripted Programming will oversee the project for Spike with Vlad Wolynetz as Co-Executive Producer.

TWC-Dimension Television debuted its first scripted series SCREAM, an adaptation of the hit horror film franchise, which is now in its second season on MTV.
