24: LEGACY (FOX) - Tiffany Hines and Bailey Chase will both recur on the spin-off as Aisha, "Isaac's (Ashley Thomas) smart and ambitious girlfriend, as well as an important part of his drug-dealing business"; and Locke, "a rugged, intense and seasoned CTU field agent. As head of field operations, he's all business and willing to make personal sacrifices for the job." (Deadline.com)
ADVENTURE TIME (Cartoon Network) - Pendleton Ward's Peabody- and Emmy-winning animated comedy will sign off in 2018 following its ninth and final season. (Deadline.com)
ARROW (The CW) - Susanna Thompson, Katie Cassidy and Jamey Sheridan will appear on the series' landmark 100th episode. No specifics on their returns were given. (EW.com)
CASA (The CW, New!) - Ed Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft ("Empire") have set up a new drama at the netlet about "six siblings in a Hispanic family who have to band together to survive when their parents get unjustly deported." Warner Bros. Television-based based Berlanti Productions is behind the hour with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
CRIMINAL MINDS: BEYOND BORDERS (CBS) - Jim Beaver and Kim Rhodes are both bound for the show's second season as Deputy Director of National Intelligence Donald Atwood, "who has a familiar shorthand with Agent Jack Garrett (Gary Sinise)"; and Lydia Barnes, "an Executive Assistant Director of the FBI's National Security Branch. A committed agent with an unwavering sense of duty, her path crosses with Jack and the IRT because of national security implications." (TVLine.com)
DEAR WHITE PEOPLE (Netflix) - Nia Long has been tapped for a recurring role as Neika Hobbs, "an African-American studies professor at Winchester University with a whip-smart intellect and unflappable confidence whose pulled-together professional life contrasts a more complicated personal one." DRUNK GIRL/HIGH GUY (Comedy Central) - The cable channel has given a pilot order to the project, which follows the adventures of two best friends and work wife/work husband in New York City - a girl who is almost always drunk, and a guy who is almost always high. Jordan Rock has likewise been cast in the pilot, which is executive produced by writer Sarah Walker and A24 Television's Ravi Nandan and John Hodges. (Deadline.com)
ELEVEN LITTLE INDIANS (FOX, New!) - Alex Carter ("Family Guy") has sold a new animated comedy to the network which "examines three branches of a large Indian family - one has achieved the American dream; another has just arrived in the U.S. wide-eyed; and the third has gone off the rails." M. Night Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan of Blinding Edge Pictures will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. (Variety.com)
EMPIRE (FOX) - Samuel Hunt ("Chicago P.D.") will recur on the series as Xavier Rosen, the new head of A&R at Empire. (Deadline.com)
ESCAPE, THE (ABC, New!) - Dan Sterling (The Interview) has scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a single-camera comedy about "a stressed-out urban professional who uproots himself and his troubled 19-year-old son to move to rural Idaho to live with his father, a retired surgeon with the ruggedness of Indiana Jones." Lord Miller's Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Seth Cohen are also executive producing for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
GIRL 10 (HBO, New!) - Ken Woodruff ("Gotham") has set up a potential drama at the pay channel "set in the very near future and revolves around Elle, one of only 10 synthetic humans in existence who is being investigated for murder while trying to stop an evil cabal from weaponizing the technology behind artificial intelligence." Jessica Alba also serves as an executive producer on the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which has a penalty attached. (THR.com)
ICON (ABC, New!) - Anne Marie O'Connor (The Lady in Gold) has sold a potential drama to the Alphabet "set in the upscale world of fashion and centers on an up-and-coming designer whose rising star makes it more difficult to escape his inner demons." Sanaa Hamri is on board to direct the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour, which has a penalty attached. Condé Nast Entertainment Dawn Ostroff and Jon Koa will executive produce alongside O'Connor and Hamri. (Deadline.com)
JANE THE VIRGIN (The CW) - Ricardo Chavira ("Desperate Housewives") is bound for the new season as "Xo's (Andrea Navedo) ex-boyfriend who dated her when he was married." (Deadline.com)
LEGEND OF MASTER LEGEND, THE (Amazon) - Shea Whigham and Dawnn Lewis are both bound for the comedy pilot, about Master Legend (John Hawkes), a man who tries to defend justice and defeat wrongdoers on the Las Vegas Strip. Whigham will play "Master Legend's thug of a brother Peanut Head, fresh out of jail"; with Lewis as Tana, "the ex-wife and oldest friend of Master Legend, a hard working, no-nonsense woman who is continually caught between her love for Master Legend and his unwavering compulsion for justice." LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (TNT) - Kristine Froseth is the first to be cast in the pilot, an eerie drama about a young boy, long tormented by his classmates, who finds solace in a friendship with a charismatic female vampire who appears to be near his age. The vampire settles into the boy's small Vermont town with her mysterious caretaker, just as a series of bizarre murders begins attracting the attention of law enforcement. She'll play said vampire, Eli. (Deadline.com)
MEATY (FX, New!) - Samantha Irby's memoir and popular blog "Bitches Gotta Eat" is being developed as a comedy at the cable channel. Irby and Jessi Klein ("Inside Amy Schumer") will co-write the half-hour which "follows Irby through failed relationships, taco feasts, her struggles with Crohn's disease, poverty, blackness and body image." Abbi Jacobson also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
MOGADISHU, MINNESOTA (HBO) - The principal cast has been set for the pilot, a family drama that grapples with what it means to be American among the Somalis of Minneapolis. Ezana Alem will play Sameer, "the Somali All-American boy: handsome, excellent student, planning to go away to college with his beautiful girlfriend, Lacy"; with Hanad Abdirahman Abdi as Ali, "a bright, likable young man who is polite and respectful to his family and loyal to his best friend, Sameer"; Selam Tadese as Bisbaas, "a renowned gangster with a friendly laugh and a surprising violent streak"; Rif Hutton as Afrah, "Sameer's father, a former professor in Somalia who works at a rental car company since immigrating to the United States"; Prince Abdi as Big Man, "a spliff-smoking petty thug who takes care of his blind grandmother"; Elvis Nolasco as Liban, "Ali's uncle and proud owner of Liban's Classy Hookah"; Yusra Warsama as Hawo, "Sameer's mother, hard-working and a loving parent"; K.C. Collins as Jamal, "street-wise, mysterious and handsome, with an effortless charisma"; and Liya Kebede as Maryam, "Ali's mother, strong-willed, vivacious and is the glue holding her family together." NASHVILLE (CMT) - Joseph David-Jones ("DC's Legends of Tomorrow") will recur on the new season as Clay, "a creative, self-aware and highly motivated up-and-coming musician who suffers intense mood swings, but is nonetheless charming and outgoing." Additionally, Cameron Scoggins has scored an arc as Zach Welles, "a young Silicon Valley billionaire who also happens to be an obsessive Rayna superfan." (TVGuide.com, TVLine.com)
NEXT SUMMER (ABC, New!) - Hilary Winston ("Bad Teacher") is developing an import of Simen Alsvik and Lars Gudmestad's Norwegian comedy series of the same name about "a summer vacation community and is about the complexity of evolving family relationships." Sony Pictures Television is behind the half-hour with Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan; Nordic World's Olav Øen, Thomas Giertsen and Espen Huseby; and Feel Good Scene also among the executive producers. REAL O'NEALS, THE (ABC) - Sean Grandillo ("Scream") has booked a three-episode arc on the series as Brett, "Kenny's (Noah Galvin) first real boyfriend. When they initially meet, Kenny doesn't even know Brett's gay, but through getting to know each other by their mutual love of singing, Kenny comes to realize Brett could potentially be more."
